The Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, the East’s most potent pack leader, was infamous for his ruthlessness and hatred of the impolite. According to legend, he murdered most of his servants, and his reign was marked by bloodshed. Nothing was too much for a man to do to ensure that those around him obeyed his every command. To him, it is preferable to slaughter the weak and bathe in their blood beneath the light of a harvest moon. His wolf was said to be a monster with red eyes that glowed in the dark, watching its victims before tearing them apart.

"So let's try this again, hi I'm Griffin Masters. Alpha asshole with an unearthly obsession with knives." I laughed out loud. "Hello, I'm Anastasia. Omega, with a freaky backstory."

I’d already gone insane, because at that moment, I was a hundred percent sure that I was about to be eaten alive by a vampire. “Lucas!” I could already feel the sharp edge of his fangs on my skin when a shrill female voice brought me an unexpected reprieve. He growled with frustration and roughly pushed me away, causing my head to jerk back and bump against the concrete wall. I glared every sort of sharp blade imaginable at my captor. So your name is Lucas. He seemed to be reading my mind, because an ugly frown marred his handsome features. “Yes. The name’s Lucas, my sweet innocent. Not that knowing that will do you any good.”

“I will have her and you nor your fucking family can stop me.” He disappeared for a second, then he appeared in front of me. He punched me and my body was forced back against a white car that sat across the street, denting the passenger side bad. A puddle of blood poured from my mouth and I knew that did some real major damage. I could not give up now, though. I was fighting for the safety of my girlfriend. Getting up, I looked over at Grimm, who started charging at me. He approached and his fist was ready to connect to my body once more, but Dante beat him to it. Stopping the punch Grimm was ready to throw at me, Dante slammed Grimm onto the ground. Once there, Dante shifted into a brown wo

Dan's weight on me was too much and I couldn’t break his grip on me. My legs were pinned by his legs hooked around me and my hands held above my head by his. His breath smelt sweet and unusual; it was sickening. He held his face close to mine when his phone rang in his pocket. He jumped off me and I started screaming. He ran out of the room slamming the door behind him, my screams were pointless. However, it was the first sign of hope. If I could somehow submit to him and get his phone from him, I might be able to reach out.

My heart drummed an uneven rhythm against my ribs, but my face stayed calm, almost too calm. Kavian’s mismatched eyes—green like deep forest moss, blue like storm-washed seas—caught the muted light spilling from the window. He held my gaze for a heartbeat before speaking. “During our visit to a city named Grimhaven,” he began, his voice low, deliberate, “we met a man who spoke of a being—a special kind of werewolf with extraordinary healing powers. He himself was living proof of it. He claimed one of these wolves healed him when he was on the brink of death.”

My eyes flashed red at Guy, making him gulp and back away a few steps. “Alright… I’ll see if we can’t buy this council member off as well, and if not; get someone in to kill her.” He showed his throat in submission, kneeling as he did. The show of submission eased Dominion back, my eyes going back to their natural brown instead of red. “What of this black devil wolf that the failure mentioned? Any word on who it was?” Having a beta who supposedly fought like that would be a great asset in infiltrating the north. “It turns out that it was Theodor Grave, sir.” Guy stood up and joined me at the desk.

The minute I slipped my hand into his, he gave it a gentle squeeze, just enough to make my heart skip, and then he let go, and looked forward at the man walking toward us. “Alpha Bloodhound,” came a voice that sounded like thunder. The man was not just tall, he was massive. Broad shoulders, thick arms that looked like they could lift a tree, and a beard that made him look like he hadn't seen a clipper in years. His chestnut-brown hair fell to his back, and the subtle golden glow in his eyes reminded me, and everyone else, that he was an Alpha. Dominic stepped forward and shook his hand in a firm handshake. “Grimhold.”

I had honed my skills through countless battles, and my special power—the Moon’s Fury—allowed me to tap into the Luna energy and multiply my abilities. I stepped into the arena, and the cheers grew even louder. My eyes adjusted to the dim light, and I noticed that the air was thick with the smell of damp earth and something wild and feral. Suddenly, the ground began to tremble beneath my feet, and from the shadows emerged a massive creature. It was a Gromar—a fearsome beast with scales as black as coal and eyes that burned like embers. Its roar shook the arena, and the crowd gasped as one.
