I knew they wouldn't answer back as to not give away my location and status to my prey. The delay had me making up the distance and by the time I cleared the first quarter of the maze, my target had disappeared. Slowing my steps I looked away at the hedges and the small trees planted amongst the bamboo chutes. I heard the breaking of a twig behind me and I stood still. "I wasn't expecting you to be out here. You of all people. You were one of my best soldiers Shields. I liked you." I went to turn but then the person spoke up again.

He told her. She walked over to the bed and placed it at the foot of it. “And what did you find upon your inspection of my things?” He was beside her now. She looked up at him. Even though this was yet another dangerous moment in her life she felt safe because she was with Nick. She rolled her eyes and smiled at him then. He smiled back, gently placing his hand on the small of her back. “I deserve the truth.” She stated. “I agree.” He took a deep breath. “It had a tracking device on it.”

Feeling closer to him with this new piece of information, Allen absentmindedly placed a hand over the pistol on his belt. Made uncomfortable by the prolonged silence that fell between the two men, Rika intervened. Then worked his way above ground.” “You did nothing to stop it?” “I have not been able to speak to Guardian Asher for years. I am trying but he doesn’t listen to me at all. I cannot direct him.” “The Artifact Marina. Why are you not using it.” “I am, he is not responding to it. If I had more time I could calm him with the artifact but we have a special engagement tomorrow and Lord Cedral cannot have any more incidents. In the past 2 nights Guardian Asher has killed 2 soldiers and 3 ordinary men. I am running out of time.”

Shadow hesitated, "Mr. Micah just took a bullet. I'm not sure if..." Pharaoh cut him off, "It's an order, not a request." Within five minutes, Micah was informed. He had no choice but to comply. Before leaving, he gave Mr. Joker clear instructions. "Watch over Nina and Nash carefully. Do not let anything happen to them." Mr. Joker looked up sharply, his surprise evident. Why was Micah still protecting Nina and Nash even after the DNA test? Micah spoke calmly, "I need to understand what's going on."

Raphaella rolled her eyes at Betty's bad guess.
