“You know Alphas are trash. They are bad people.” Adeline tried to open her eyes. She blinked a few times before looking straight at Hazel. “Don’t hesitate to call me, okay?” she raised her fist and said. “If that Alpha did anything bad to you, I’m going to punch him in the face.” Hazel just nodded and did not object at all. “You should stop. You are already drunk.” Hazel insisted. “I’m not!” Adeline exclaimed. “I know what I’m doing!” She took another glass from the table and took it straight in one gulp.

Arsenio said. “Then kill me!!! Both of you just turn your guns towards me and kill me!!! What is the essence of staying alive when my two children have no love or regard for me????!!! Both of you kill me now!!!!” Adaline yelled as she suddenly held her chest. At that moment, she didn't understand what was going on anymore as she suddenly felt an intense pain and tightness on her chest. Her vision suddenly became blurry and she could only hear echoes of voices. Adaline could neither talk nor could she scream as she continued holding her chest.

With a final, silent nod, Adler raised the gun, his finger inching towards the trigger, "You should have known better than to cross me." The Russian smirked, "You wouldn't do the knock-knock game this time?" "Nope, you were never a game." Ruslan met his eyes, unflinching, "What if I rise from the dead—again?" Adler's lips twitched, "Not this time." With her shaking hands, she reached for something inside the pocket of her jacket. “What’s this?” Clavier asked. “The drug...the First Elder’s blood used to produce the drug...and the research data….” Adeline replied softly before losing consciousness.

He lunged for the bathroom to make himself throw up, but a sharp, searing pain had already erupted in his gut. "You crazy—" He gasped, barely forcing the words out. But Adeline just kept smiling—a cold, empty smile. She picked up the fruit knife from the coffee table and plunged it into his chest. Over and over. "Anyone who toys with a true heart deserves to die." When her strength gave out, she collapsed to the floor, sobbing. Dark, blood-red liquid spilled from her lips as she opened her mouth. Then she fell still. Her eyes stayed open, staring at nothing.

I slammed my mind walls shut, he clearly needed time to chill, and I needed the space to breathe. This was the torment I had been dealing with ever since I met Adeline in my literature class a week ago. Dax had been making my life a living hell with his relentless demands to mate and mark her. Heck, I couldn't even remember how many times he had forced me to run to her window under the cover of night, just to be close enough to inhale that intoxicating scent of hers. Her eyes became distant. "Once you're gone, he'll have no choice but to come back to me." Adaline stared directly into her eyes. "No." Camilla's smile vanished. "Ronan will never be with you." The gun fired. Bang! The deafening sound echoed through the warehouse. Adaline flinched violently. Her entire body shook. Camilla lowered the weapon slightly and glared at her. "One more word." Her voice trembled with fury. "One more word from you and I'll kill you."

After a tense silence, Thomas finally sounded utterly defeated. “That’s enough! Stop! The rescue team is already on the way! “Just… go around, don’t come this way.” I exhaled sharply and yanked the wheel, turning the car around. I had gambled right. However, moments of relief were immediately replaced by a wave of heat even stronger than before. Smoke burned in my lungs, and all I could hear was the relentless crackling of the fire. I fought to control the car, spinning through flames and smoke, gripping the wheel with every ounce of strength.
