When she got up from the chair she felt dizzy. She could barely stand. She realizes that she was crying maybe because of Novella's harsh words. She expected tears but instead, it was blood coming from her eyes. She also spits up blood out of her mouth. Her body felt like a thousand knives stabbing her. The pain was unbearable that she was sweating and breathing heavily. She starts to choke on her blood during this time. She looks over to the King for help. But he was going through the same thing. Novella watches her parent die by poison. There was no remorse or emotion she was happy to kill them. Their death was taking too long she grabs a knife off the table and killed them. The Guard clean

He opened a small bottle. “Open her mouth.” I kept my lips tight shut. The man holding me squeezed my cheeks hard until my jaw hurt. The bottle touched my mouth. It smelled strange. “Swallow it,” the glowing man said calmly. “Or I kill you.” Kill. The word felt heavy. I stopped fighting for a second. If I didn’t swallow it, he would kill me. If I swallowed it… maybe I would die anyway. Maybe dying wouldn’t be so bad. Mommy and Daddy were dead.

When she didn’t feel any new pain, Geraldine opened her eyes to inspect what was going on, and she instantly recognized the familiar dark aura, looking around her, she noticed that the orange flames were replaced with black ones, but Geraldine knew they were not flames, they were shadows, the mossy ground was tainted red and chops of flesh were thrown around her, she didn’t understand how did he kill them so fast, without a single sound, without any sign of resistance from them, as if he was a death ghost. He was, Geraldine thought when her eyes fell on him, standing not far from her, naked in the darkness.

There were other Halloween decorations on display along Brazier Drive, amid these sleeping Houses of the Holy. Richard noticed some window-cling mummies, and a bedsheet ghost in the trees. An autumn-harvest scarecrow with a pair of dullish orange pumpkins (whose fleshy insides must be turning to stringy, seeded mush with the warm September days) sat on the porch stoop next door.

The lady in the shadows was here, inside the lifeless body of the young man and there was nothing she could do. “You know I plan to end you Beth, along with your beloved and whoever else stands in my way.” “Why are you doing this?” Beth said in a hoarse voice, biting back her tears. “Why do you want to hurt Ethan? Who are you?” It felt as if she were standing in an ice locker, the cold was becoming unbearable. “I am the woman he killed!” The voice was more forceful now,angry and raw. “He ended me as I will end him!”

The woman completes it for me, but the look in her eyes tells me that she thinks it's anything but just. I start to push through the crowd to make my way to the middle, where Harry is going to kill both teenagers, so that I can stop him. I'm almost close to the scene when two different pitches of ear-piercing screams flood the entire courtyard and everyone gasps. The screams stopped at the same time. The two kids are dead. Harry killed them.

The color in her eyes fades into emptiness. My chest is heaving frantically and my eyes start getting dizzy. “You killed her.” No, not sweet Hailey, she had no sin, she didn’t deserve this at all. She never asked for any of this. She had hoped to get out of here and he just killed her, just because of what? An apple pie? “It looks like her blood has messed up my tiles.” That’s the only thing he’s concerned about? His freaking tiles?

A dotted thread began at Crescent Cove, curled past the wharf, then split like veins—one toward the school, one along the apartment blocks that climbed the hill. “These aren’t random hits,” Susan said. “They’re recency-weighted. Last forty-eight hours, brightest to oldest. School pool lights up like a Christmas tree—Jasmine, Nathan. Then this building—fifteen minutes before the call came in. Two signatures. They move through the plumbing, through steam, through any body of water it can cohere in. It’s not a ghost. It’s older. Dumber. Hungrier.” Nick swallowed. “You’re telling me… water killed them?”

Mindy hurried excitedly to answer it, and three dubious-looking men in shabby costumes walked through the door. The moment I saw their leader, a man with a large mole on his face, the blood in my veins went cold, and my fingernails dug deeply into my palms. It was them! In my past life, these three "exorcists" took Mindy's money and struck me to death with a so-called holy scepter drenched in dog's blood! Suppressing the murderous rage surging inside me, I lowered my head obediently and stepped aside. The fake exorcists entered the bedroom and theatrically circled Sam's bed, before a mole-faced man slapped his thigh dramatically.
