a voice said from the shadows near the door. ​I jumped, the golden light around me turning into a jagged aura of protection. I looked toward the corner, and I saw a woman stepping out of the darkness. She was tall, with hair the color of midnight and eyes that looked like swirling galaxies. She was wearing a dress of woven starlight that seemed to shift and change as she moved. ​"Who are you?" I demanded, my voice echoing with the Alpha’s authority. "How did you get past the guards?" ​The woman smiled, a sad, knowing expression. "The guards cannot see what the shadows do not wish them to see, Winifred. I am the one who wrote the book you found in the archive. I am the First Shadow."

But, she also saw the shadow, a shattered fragment of Zara's soul that had been split apart and tainted by her desire for power, rising from the same suffering. When the vision ended, Lena staggered back, her breathing uneven. Her fingers brushed the book's cover as she extended her hand. The shadows then sprang to life. Chaos erupted in the area as shadowy creatures burst from the walls, their shapes shifting and twisting like nightmares. Zara fumbled for the book as Kael leaped into action, his blade slicing through the darkness. "Zara, get moving!" Kael's voice was keen with urgency as he shouted.

She was screaming in the fire ball and I could smell burning flesh and I knew that it was actually hurting her but then she raised her arms up and the shadows appeared from behind her and approached me with significant force and knocked me off my feet and I dropped the fireball. I got back up and the shadows were surrounding me and I couldn't see the witch anywhere and I used the wind element to force the shadows to move. They fought against it but I put more power behind it forcing them to move and they retreated. I wasn't scared of them anymore. And now I knew that I could fight the shadows as well. And now they knew that. I wasn't as weak as I was. But now they knew that I had training. I

I also won't beg. I pick up one of the worn volumes and open it. In the beginning, there were two. In the beginning, one male, one female. In the beginning, no war, no famine. In the beginning, love. Within a short time, I'm enthralled. It's like reading a science fiction novel even though I know these events happened. This book is about their history. I stop myself. My history. It's told by a female Shadow Warrior named Nalista.

Silas said rubbing the back of his neck. “And your father is right.” A deep voice spoke. “Whoa!” Silas and Marco said leaning their heads back to look up at the 7 foot 4, 400 lb. wall of muscle smirking down at them. “I’m Royal Delta General Shadow Collins; this is my mate Royal Delta General Jennifer Collins.” He introduced himself and his mate. “Hi, I’m Royal Beta Jyden Hunt.” He greeted them. “Those two over there are the Shadow Twins, Spyder and Spencer Collins, Delta Warriors, and part of the Queens Royal Guards.”

My eyes landed on books, portions, maps, carved objects and barrels that contained pepper red substances. “What’s this place?” I curiously asked. “We call it the dark room, it contains everything you need to know about Shadowclaw. The book over there is yours to read. It will give you instructions on how to help him.” He answered. I picked the book which was titled ‘LUNA’ and walked out.
