… Elena POV… I eagerly opened its pages. As I flipped through the pages, I saw countless diagrams and illustrations of mythical creatures, spells, and potions. I searched through the pages, searching for any hint of a cure for the sickness that plagued my village. The illustrations were detailed, but the writing was cryptic and difficult to decipher. As I reached the end of the book, I came upon a page unlike any other. It was an intricate drawing of a carved stone with strange designs etched into its surface. I gazed upon the picture, trying to make sense of its meaning.

It’s more likely that a draught from the door or windows disturbed the pristine alter cloth. My gaze passes over the objects on the table, white candles, willow branches, bundles of herbs, trinkets and tchotchkes. My eyes settle upon an open book, the pages are loosely bound and the gilded illustration depicts a woman being lifted into the clouds by two sets of hands. In my awe of the tome I forget about the potential stowaway. I must have this book, the people are no more, so it will not be missed and I cannot fight the urge to reach out and pluck it from its resting place. It is cumbersome to hold, even with both hands and I have no idea how I will hide it from Halen.

Prying closely, she inspected the carving intensely. It wasn’t very clear and was a very tiny one. But turning the pot closer, she was able to see the drawing of something. In order to find what it was, she casted a spell over it and the second instant, the little green pot in her hands changed to a large sized pot, while everything else over it also got magnified.

Perhaps the embossing was the shadow of writing that had once been picked out with ink, but which time had faded or flaked away.

After the doctor drew my blood, he opened the glass bottle with the golden liquid and added some of it into my blood which was now in a separate glass tube. For a whole full minute, nothing seemed to happen. Not even a slight change, no sizzling or dramatic scientific colouration, it was as if my blood ate all the gold from the liquid. I half expected the combination to burst into a giant cloud of blue colour but it didn't. From the doctor's confused faces, I realized that the no change was not normal.

Mars and Marcus came here to participate in this competition to win the cup so that they can reverse the curse on their mother. The goblet of fire randomly uses the participants. The names have already been put in the goblet by all the kingdoms ministers the week prior to this event. Today the fire will come up with the selected participants' names.

A grin slipped onto his face and he continued, “Welcome to your own little Hogwarts!” Twisting the knob, Nate entered and Eira followed. After hearing the word ‘Hogwarts’ she had built up high expectations. The room wasn’t grand or beautiful. Truthfully, it was dull. First she took in were the shelves with several thick books that looked torn at the edges. There were a few wooden tables with differently shaped candles and pentagrams drawn over them. The walls were lined with crafts and charts that attracted her attention. Most of them were hangings that showed the phases of the moon. There was something written below each picture but it was a foreign language that she couldn’t understand. Sh

Goblins can’t do that!” She hid behind a boulder with the level-headed boys who contemplated throwing her out. “Not unless they’re taught” calmly replied Hector. “But the textbooks”- “The text books don’t tell everything, especially text that can exploited”. She shut up after that, deciding to think up something before the batch of goblins come along. “I’ll create a hole, Hector can summon fire beneath it” she offered, staring wearily at the approaching goblins, their hands frozen as if they couldn’t control the magic they had.

author pov A few days later, Evelynn and Rose were watching Leo practice his fire-conjuring spell with Gammy. The little boy loved it when Gammy taught his lessons and wanted more than anything to please her. Gammy laughed when one of his fireballs landed in the pot of water on the stove and fizzled out. Leo frowned and tried once more to conjure a fireball and throw it in the fireplace to start a fire. This one bounced off the wall, flew across the room, and set the curtain on fire, hanging at the front window. Rose grabbed the pot of water and threw it on the curtain. The fire was put out, and Gammy was coaching Leo to concentrate and picture what he wanted to happen as he spoke the spell.
