They were midway across the path, in front of a cemetery when suddenly graves started opening. "What is going on?" Isabella asked, clutching onto Chris tightly. Chris was suddenly sweating so furiously but Ariel was cool and her face was blank and devoid of any emotions. They stood there watching six tombs open and six scary-looking ghosts walked out. Isabella was already whitish in appearance knowing who they are. Chris's hairs were all up and his eyes green, his normal sight nature. "GREETINGS TO THE SPECIAL ONE." One of them muttered. "GREETINGS TO THE LITTLE GODDESS." Another muttered.

"I hid it before anyone else could see it." "It can't be." I say with a small voice. "It's Aurora's diary." The old and worn out picture on the inside of the cover clearly shows the redhead demon who lives inside of me. "Yes. At first her resemblance to you confused me but once I read it I realized it wasn't you." She explains. "Now, are you going to keep denying that you are not human?"

Every time I tried to approach Harmony, she'd immediately pretend to be busy, and her odd behavior made me uneasy. That night, I found myself unable to sleep, my mind restless. Eventually, I fell into a nightmare, waking up drenched in sweat. The dorm was pitch black, the sky still dark, and I couldn't tell what time it was. Suddenly, I felt something at the foot of my bed. I turned and saw Harmony halfway up the ladder to my bed, half of her body crawling under my mosquito net.

His voice pulsates in excitement. At once a man appears in front of him out of no where, as soon as Benjamin opens the gates of the haunted house. "Do not go there. It is just an illusion." A man in a long coat with no limbs flying in air appeared in front of him. "It is the evil spirit which is calling you." He warned him. But Benjamin did not care for his words. On a trance he continued to walk ahead towards the mansion. "Our phones are dead. I need to call somebody for help. My wife is laying there unconscious." He points to his broken car.

I murmured, gathering my things. At Row D, I ran my fingers across worn spines: Lycanthropy and Legends, Moon-bound, The Silver Curse. My pulse quickened as I pulled a heavy volume free. I whispered to myself, “Could I really…?” “Could you really what?” a voice came from behind me. I spun to see Fiona standing there, arms folded, a curious smile on her face. “Fiona! You scared me.” “Sorry.” She peered at the book in my hand. “Werewolves? That’s… unexpected. Planning a Halloween prank?”

The books were a revelation. Jasmine traced the leather scrollwork on a book’s blood red cover, admiring the craftsmanship. The gilt edges of the pages and the gold title winked in her reading light. The Haunt were a people who took pride in their literature and wrote even their histories with passion. No bloodless recitals of bare facts here. She scooted down against her raised pillows, seeking a more comfortable position. It was after midnight, but her mind was too seduced by the glory of Haunt history to give in to slumber. The first book she’d read had barely mentioned charmers, but this one seemed more promising.

Sweat trickled down his face as the rattling stopped. Eliseo waited, but there was no sound. He placed both hands on the door carefully and listened. He couldn’t hear anything. With a deep breath, he unlocked the door and opened it very slowly. Halloween Night, 1992 The lights were bright in this neighborhood, and the decorations were amazing. One house went all out with the decorating. Classic horror icons stood in the yard along with a large pumpkin glowing behind them for an eerie effect. A picture of a black cat covered the entire front door. Eliseo stopped to admire the decorations. He wished he had a camera right now.

I only hope I don't have to be murdered in order for that to happen. Arlo drives me home and the moon follows us. I hate Halloween, what used to be costumes and fun. Is now fear, panic, and an asshole laughing in a Haunted House. Nothing is scarier than this Halloween. As Arlo squeezes my hand, I know I can face the demons and ghosts of tonight with him by my side. To make sure its not in my head, I squeeze his hand and he squeezes mine a little tighter bringing a little bit of happiness back with it.

It simply disintegrated, then reappeared back in the car. “Sick bastard,” I spat. He'd been stalking me. I tore a slim black book from the rat pile. Book of Psychopomps was etched on it in gold ink. Numbers, emails, and old-fashioned addresses accompanied names, written in no apparent order. I rifled through the pages: “Old farts: ODIN, MORRIGAN, YAMA, HERMES....” and “New pests: ANAESTHESIA, AIDS, SANTA MUERTE...” A red ribbon marked a page at the back. “Accessories: SHANNON PARKER.”
