He should be out there getting to work yet he was in his room with his door shut thinking of her.

You can hit me, lash out at me… hell, you can scream until your throat bleeds. Just—don’t shut me out. Not like this.” His voice caught, just slightly, but he forced it steady. “I feel like I’m going to die, kitten.” That made her head turn, slowly, as though it weighed a hundred pounds. Her eyes met his at last, glassy with unshed tears.

Why does it feel right holding her this way and why does his heart break so much at the sound of her muffled cry? Why does it feel like he was more affected than he should be? He was only helping her, but it seems he had gotten so attached with her condition….. or not? He was so confused right now. He felt like he has never felt before and just wanted to break free from her and clear his head, but something tells him this situation is just the beginning. Something tells him they won't be parting body soon. Her frail body was pressed to his own, with her head resting against his chest and arms around him.
