That word, disposable, made me feel like garbage, like I meant nothing. I wanted to scream. To cry. To hit him. But my body wouldn’t work. My mind couldn’t process how the man I loved, the man I’d given up everything for, could be so heartless.

"When he failed to get me pregnant... he discarded me. Just like that. Like I'd served my purpose and was no longer worth the effort." My voice wavered. "I think that broke me more than the pain ever did. That he used me so completely and then just left. Like I was nothing." My gaze stayed fixed on the fountain's shimmerless water. "And then... everything just started shutting down." A pause. "Not all at once. That would've been merciful. But slowly. Like pieces of me were being peeled off layer by layer." I swallowed, the memory clawing up my throat.

Like none of it had meant anything. Something cracked inside me. I stopped moving. Just like that, he dismissed me—after humiliating me, hurting me, violating every shred of my dignity. He tossed me aside like I was nothing. Like I was just... a misstep. The manager's whole demeanor shifted. He smiled, relieved, eager to please. "Of course. Right away," he said, already turning to call in the next girl, as if what just happened had been a scheduling hiccup. No one even looked at me.

Abandoned. And then, in that dark, suffocating moment, realization dawned on me. I had been discarded. No more secrets, no more lies: just me, alone in this hell. The tears I had longed to shed refused to come, leaving only the bitter taste of defeat in my mouth.

I didn’t want to imagine what it’d feel like growing under the roof of such a man. “For all the guts you have in you, what has it brought you?” His voice was cold and sent chills down my spine, “You have been discarded, disgraced, and put out like filth from the person you have devoted your entire existence to. I wonder what it’d feel like having that done to me.” I was trying not to let his words get to me. The more I tried, the more I failed. He had made a strong point but I wasn’t going to give up this fight so easily.

I wasn’t the one he cared about. I was just the girl he threw away. The unwanted mate. And I was done being weak.

I bet it would make ‘her’ sad if she heard this herself but, there is no hiding from the truth. Yeah, I was ONCE like her, lost and alone. I was skeptical of anything purely heartwarming in this world simply because I was born discarded of that right. Everything about me is a ‘DISGRACE’, they said. Those words gnawed this core of mine to emptiness. Every good act people made for me, they call it “bond”, but in the end, it was only for their own interest. Nothing, really. Nothing in this world had astounded me.

I wasn't trash and I would never be a nobody. The only trash was the fool who gave up his future in the name of love. The only nobody was the barren madwoman with no legacy to her name than murderer. That would never be me.

Everything I believed in, everything I trusted, and everything I worked hard for in the last five years was destroyed and shattered completely within just a few minutes. The man whom I treated as my whole world, whom I supported through every hardship, whom I loved more than my own life, and whom I trusted blindly with everything I had… had thrown me away like rubbish, right in front of everyone, telling me clearly and loudly that I was nothing, absolutely nothing to him. I looked around me with blurry tear-filled eyes, seeing all those familiar faces—friends, relatives, colleagues, and neighbors. Some looked at me with sympathy and sadness, shaking their heads pitifully as if saying

I had sacrificed my dreams, my dignity, and my freedom for a man who saw me as nothing more than a stepping stone. And now, he was discarding me like I was nothing. I clutched the papers tighter, the weight of his betrayal crashing down on me. Tears blurred my vision as my chest heaved, the ache inside me far greater than any pain I had felt from cleaning or scrubbing floors.
