The Merman, My Man
‘Hang on, is this…’
When I realized who the voice belonged to, I saw a gray-haired old man slowly walk from the corner and towards me, step by step.
I was stunned for a split second, as if struck by lightning. I couldn’t believe my eyes as I stared at the old man’s figure. He remained the same as he had been for many years, dressed in a black kimono, the traditional Japanese robe. Above his head, his hair was in a messy bun. But his face was wrinkle-free, and his skin was as soft as a baby’s. If this was a plastic surgery procedure, I could only say it was a huge success. The only flaw in his performance was his strange expression.
“Linda, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other.”
