Louisa's POV It was a gigantic maze-like garden, just like the one that Harry Potter needed to go through to get the Goblet of Fire. On the other side of the maze, I could see a golf course, a tennis court, a giant swimming pool, and several swans cruising on a lake. I looked up and saw the mansion behind me. It wasn't a mansion. Technically speaking, it was a museum-like castle. I knew Lucas Sigler coming from a well-off family, but I hadn't thought that he was this kind of filthy one percent rich.

"We're going to the tunnels." On the outskirts of Asheville sat a derelict cottage that looked like a ruin to any human eye. Beneath its floorboards lay the entrance to the Labyrinth—a subterranean catacomb and crossroads that connected the "Otherworlds." It was the most dangerous route in existence, a place where geography didn't follow the laws of physics, and where even the Blackwood Pack feared to tread. “There is no right answer. Only consequences.” After a long pause, Jessica exhaled sharply and reached for the door marked with the witch’s symbol. As soon as her fingers brushed it, the door vanished, revealing a narrow bridge spanning a bottomless chasm. “Well, that’s reassuring,” Lucas quipped, eyeing the precarious pathway skeptically. “Just keep moving,” Kade urged, stepping onto the bridge first. --- When they finally reached the center of the labyrinth, they found themselves in a massive chamber illuminated by a swirling vortex suspended in midair. Beneath it stood a pedestal holding a single object: a crystalline orb pulsating with golden light.

“So this game, they said it’s a magical labyrinth, and whoever makes it out first wins. You form a team of two, place your hand on this crystal ball, and it teleports you to a starter spot. Do you want to be on my team?” Ah, I’m well aware of the game Amber is talking about, and honestly, I don’t want to participate in it. I’ve watched too many movies with labyrinths to be excited: Harry Potter, The Cat Returns by Studio Ghibli, Maze Runner, Pan’s Labyrinth, and I believe there even was a creepy Labyrinth in that series Locke & Key. Well, I guess in a real battle, the enemy would never wait for the time to start, they would attack whenever they can. “The time limit is thirty minutes. Killing is prohibited…”, thirty minutes? Isn’t that too short? “Timer starts… NOW!” as I expected, the magic that the other mages prepared even before the time starts started to explode, everyone was avoiding it. A few seconds after, the ground started to turn into lava. I tried finding Aiden, he’s the only fire mage in here, this is surely his spell. I couldn’t find him but I saw a few mages who got stuck in the lava. They probably can’t fly, if I remember correctly one of them is a sound mage.
