“So that’s the leverage they used.” I sucked in air, throat burning. “Let her go.” He tilted his head. “She isn’t mine.” “She’s not theirs either,” I snapped. Outside, Vesper shouted something I couldn’t fully hear—then a crash, like someone was slammed into stone. The cage shook again. The crack widened. The Hollow King stepped fully into the first cage, ash-pale body tall and calm, like he’d always belonged here. The carved crescent on his throat glowed faintly, not from rune-light but from something deeper—like his voice had teeth even when it was silent.

Kael didn't look pleased, but he nodded. Moments later we were climbing the northern battlements. The storm hit us immediately, freezing wind and blinding snow, and the fortress stretched below with thousands of wolves preparing for battle. Archers lined the walls, warriors gathered in the courtyard, the entire pack stood ready. Then I saw them. My breath caught. The Hollow Kings. Five figures stood beyond the gates, only five, and somehow that was worse, far worse. They wore black armor that seemed forged from darkness itself, silver crowns resting upon their heads, their faces appearing almost human, almost. Their eyes glowed with pale moonlight, ancient, merciless, immortal.

“Was it from the war?” “No. The king grew up not knowing anything about family because he had no one to start with. Many knew it, but refused to talk about it. Like you, he had a dark and troubled past, Kate. He used to wander in the streets when he was a boy until he was abducted and was taken in a facility along with several other children. He was a product of an experiment led by the first ever Vampire King Davidson Rowell and his former Council in their attempt to create warriors that would protect the royals and the city.”

He says glaring up at me as I struggle to get out his hold, but can't. Suddenly blood starts to drip from his mouth. I look down to see long sharp black claws, attached to a large, bloody, leathery, black clawed hand, coming through the alpha king's stomach. The alpha king let go, dropping me to the ground. I watch as Blake pulls his bloody hand from the alpha king's body. The alpha king drops down to his knees, leaning over. I watch as the big hole from his stomach to his back starts to slowly heal. Blake shifts back, breathing heavily as he glares down at the alpha king. Not giving him time to completely heal, Blake grabs both sides of his head and twist, snapping his neck. He twists again

"Hey, what are you doing?" Dua questioned, fear seeping into her voice. The maid opened her mouth, revealing her sharp fangs. Dua's eyes widened, her whole being trembling. "V...va...vampire?" The maid gripped Dua tighter, bringing her fangs to Dua's neck. Dua closed her eyes, letting out a loud scream. The door burst open, and in a blink of an eye, the King, Alexander was there. His hand gripping the maid's jaw tightly, just a breath from Dua's skin.

When I was fighting in the war that happened long ago, I was on edge of losing my life but the vampire king, Marcellus, Saved my life by making me a vampire. From then, I was a hybrid, part bloodthirsty vampire and part most powerful Wizard. I was the cruelest king in this entire universe. People read about me in books and there are a lot of stories about me, I wanted to see her reaction when she discovers about me and how I fed on people. It would be fun to watch, I thought. “Why do-do you want to drink my blood?” She asked in a low and shaky voice, My eyes moved to her lips for a second before I moved my eyes away from those kissable ones, “You’re a wizard right?” she asked with a confused

And they contain not an ounce of recognition as he stares down Sophia. After a few days of seeing a kindness I hadn’t expected from the ruthless lycan king, I was starting to suspect that his rage was nothing but a rumor. Looking at the predator before me, who looks ready to sink his teeth into Sophia’s shoulder and rip it clean off, I realize those rumors are very much based in reality.

he asked. "Valerie Aine James," I replied, biting my lip. Did he maybe, by any chance, know them? He was a vampire so he could be really old and maybe have been friends with my parents? His eyes widened a fraction and my hopes went up. "Nikolai, do you know who Faelern is?" Max asked, jumping to a different topic. "The king of all Fayes," Nik replied. The Fayes had a king? "Did you know he had a daughter?" Max asked him again.

It felt like an entirely different realm. Zion stood beside me, his hand tight in mine. "We're in the in-between," he murmured, his voice taut. "Where souls get unravelled and monsters are made." The air rippled ahead of us, and then he appeared. The Hollow King. A crown of thorns rose from his skull, curling like burnt branches. His eyes were a bottomless abyss, and he looked like Jaxon. But he looked and felt wrong. And beside him was Callum bound with black chains.

“We thought they were extinct. The bloodlines. But then I met you. And everything changed.” “What am I?” “You’re not just bonded to me,” he said softly. “You were born for this.” “For what, Kael?” He turned, his silver eyes dark and shining. “To wake the Hollow King.” --- I stumbled back. “What the hell does that mean?” Kael caught me. “The Hollow King was sealed centuries ago. Not killed but sealed. His power was too great. And the only ones who could channel him were women of a specific lineage. Carriers of old magic. Like you.”
