Rico was confused as well, he knew that the green flame holder was Niffa, but what about the once beholder that the book is talking about? They continued reading the next page, it says,

Claws ripped across his shoulder, tearing flesh, and he groaned against the pain. “Tristan!” Autumn’s scream split the twilight. And then the fire came. Not spoken. Not summoned. Unleashed. A surge of silver flame burst from her chest, ripping outward in every direction. It roared like a living storm, searing the air itself. The Hollow shrieked once before turning to ash mid-strike, its body scattering on the wind before it touched the ground. But the fire didn’t stop. It lashed the clearing—trees bursting into silver sparks, earth hissing, air boiling. The power was raw, unbound, and it didn’t know friend from foe.

Lady Cassie had must have smuggled the book inside her already large pile, because it was far from the magical beings’ catalogs Bree was looking for at first. There, she found a section on fire creature’s techniques and a particularly promising chapter about weaponizing the phoenix rebirthing process. It explained in less details than she expected that it could be done by extending the fire halo, but it consumed the inner fire. The next couple of sentences set Bree of to a hyperventilating predicament, and her hands shook so badly the book fell on the ground.

Besides, I've recently been investigating the true perpetrator behind the fire. If I learn that you had something to do with the fire, then... Even God won't be able to save you."

I was doing it so everyone in this room would know I had given them the roadmap to avoid disaster. If they still managed to screw it up, it would be because they were idiots, and it would have nothing to do with me. I wasn't giving them any ammunition to sling mud at me ever again. Lucy didn’t even bother to open the file. She glanced at the cover with contempt and let out a haughty sniff. “Right, Madeline. Got it.” I knew she wouldn't read it. After all, as a mole, her job was to burn everything to the ground.

I may not have much but I'd like to keep a hold on my dignity. I kick a small pebble that skitters into the darkness of the pavement as I walk down, I hear festive sounds coming from the pub at the end of this street but I ignore it. No use hoping to have something you never will. Even though I have magical blood, I'm a fire slifer. I have no clue how to harness my power so it's basically useless. I've only had one or two incidents of nearly burning a house down but other than that I feel basically human.
