a breath whispered into my ear. I sharpened my focus in the distance, looking towards where Christian was pointing and could see the outline of a fawn. I looked back over to Rose's group and could tell they had spotted it as well. A couple men started to move their feet, but Rose shot her arm out and signaled for them to get down. "Get ready," she whispered. "But it's just a deer," another Guardian started to argue, but Rose quickly hushed him and gave the hand signal to stay low and prepare for attack.

I watched them go from the front window, the house pulling me firmly back when I tried to follow. The Reynolds arrived eager and unaware. They had a four year old daughter named Harper who immediately claimed the upstairs room with the best lake view. I observed their first days with renewed focus. Harper talked to me within the first week, leaving drawings near the basement door. Rachel found them and asked gentle questions. Harper pointed at the stairs. “The lady is sad and wants help.”

Because the Ferals had been attacking multiple packs simultaneously, Finn had agreed to send some of his warriors to help us. I had expected at least five hundred, not fifty. Sighing, I skimmed the map again, trying not to let my mind wander. I had successfully survived two weeks without going to see Maya. Even though I had insisted on attending the training sessions, I had tried once, but I couldn’t stand the intimacy between her and Finn. It had driven Fenrir insane, so I had stopped going entirely. “Remember to tell the warriors to retreat and get into the safety circle if the attack gets too heated,” I reminded them.

CHAPTER 28 ~REGINA’S POV~ Sweat dripped down my temples and fell to the ground with a thud only I could hear. The air was thick with tension and the animals that inhabited the forest kept their distance watching the events unfold before their eyes from the safety of their homes. It’s been five days. Five days since I was forced to train the warriors of the Blue Lily pack to raid our enemies for the fifteenth time.

I need Marinah to dig into our history texts and see if she can find anything about the female Warriors that would help us manage her behavior. As we ride through the inlet town once known as Cienfuegos, a few people stop and wave. We've renamed the area Homestead One. Approximately five hundred people live here, including one hundred Shadow Warriors. Among the humans we have a little over one hundred children, several of them Warriors, though it will be years before their beasts emerge.

She had that same look in her eyes that Colin had seen on his own father's face when he made the proposal to turn the Maleficent Air Tournament into a sporting event that profits several hundred million dollars a year. Honey was already prepped and eager to go when Colin walked into the holding area. She nuzzled his face, and her forked red tongue licked his jaw affectionately. This is why Alisa had named her Honey--when they first met the wyvern, she was so small Alisa carried her around like a plushie. At breakfast one day, the wyvern had been enticed by a jar of honey served along with the pancakes and stuck her beak in the jar. She had panicked and flew around, dropping globs of the swee

The men who went inside were all struggling to get out of the tent and it fell atop them and the tiger. Smiling to herself, Sara removed the fallen tent from their body as they ran away like mad men. The least they expected was a tiger inside a young girl's tent who was camping in a forest. Sara put all her things well and mounted her tiger as they continued their journey towards Autumn town. Sara inhaled sharply when she saw a few warriors in their uniforms staring at her with groggy eyes. One of the warriors looked at his horse and back to the tiger before gulping.

From what the merman had told her, she was some sort of fae creature, or at least a watered-down version of one. Snickering to herself, she looked up into the sky, watching as the sun dipped lower. How had the day turned into this? It had started off normal, well as normal as it could with four fae men living in her house. Tea had been nice with Annwn. It left her with more questions than answers. Who was Hyster, and why had he looked at her like she was breaking his heart? The pain had been clear to her. She didn’t understand how Annwn could dismiss him away so easily.

It took me by surprise as I hadn't expected such a reaction from them. Hunter then took center stage and began his announcement. "My fellow warriors," he started, "we have been through a difficult time. We have faced challenges that have tested our strength and resilience. But despite all that, we have emerged victorious. And today, I want to recognize our Luna for her unwavering support and leadership during these difficult times."

"I don't like him in any way. He just makes me feel ashamed by playing in such an absurd manner," Minahil retorted and took a bottle from her bag and took long gulps of the mint shake. "Yes, Abraham." The deafening charivari along with loud banging and whistling attracted the attention of everyone present there except for the boys playing fiercely. "The queen bee with her groupie!" Minahil said scrunching up her nose to which Yara laughed. Their team won the match and sharp noise of clapping, hooting and party poopers rose in the ground.
