My body began to convulse uncontrollably, but Miles remained lost in his delusions. I was terrified. I pressed my nails into my palms to stay calm while I silently prayed for divine intervention, hoping Miles would drop dead on the spot. Suddenly, there was a violent force, and both Miles and I fell to the ground. He cushioned my fall, using himself as a barrier. Disgust surged through me.
