I'm not quite sure why that comforted me enough to head down those stairs, but my feet descended one by one. Once downstairs, I heard Spencer coming behind me. The basement opened up to another family room, but this one was smaller and a somewhat normal size. This time, there were doors all around the room, two on the right, two in the middle, and one on the left. Moving me aside, Spencer goes to the left of the room and pulls open another door, but this time, I don't hesitate to follow him. Looking inside, the room is a little larger than the first family room I saw. The room inside was covered with mats. Like a mental asylum, only they are blue.

“It’s just through here.” Swinging open the door, Kate stepped aside, allowing Georgia to slowly shuffle into the spare bedroom. Red, swollen eyes drifted around the room, taking in the fluffy, black comforter thrown atop the twin bed, the antique lamp inherited from Kate’s grandmother centered on the mahogany nightstand and the small, hexagonal mirrors positioned above the gray headboard. Chewing her lower lip, Georgia stepped toward the neatly-organized bookshelf nestled in the corner, a pink acrylic nail brushing along the spine of one of the books. “The Haunting of Hill House,” she mumbled, nodding her head in approval. “Like the show?”

Blake linked his fingers with Melissa’s and they pushed open the big horror doors. Blake could feel Melissa tremble as they walked through the haunted mansion, there was a zombie, a vampire, a werewolf, fake blood dripping down the walls in a room with the girl from the exorcist, when they got to the final room, they walked in an saw a “Dr” with his back to them. Her life had lost colour completely and her days as a child were over. The front door was an old heavy wooden door that creaked when it was opened. Irina stood in the center of her large, luxurious bedroom which had just been turned upside down after it was just scanned minutes ago, as her heart pounded erratically against her ribcage, her eyes fixated on the dreadful horror she was staring at. Her breaths came in sharp, shallow gasps as she stared in disbelief and shock, at the small, insidious devices that had been hidden in every corner of her room without suspicion, all scattered across the floor- the dread that she had been sharing her private space with, longer than she could ever figure out.

Like a shadow, a leftover demon hiding in the dark, but no actual body. A weight appeared on my back, forcing my chest against the floor with such force, I feared just a little more and I would fall through the ceiling of the room below the bedroom. Whatever was happening, I hoped it was a very vivid nightmare because it made no sense to be a part of reality. As if my life wasn’t complicated enough, soon after I found out that I had a thirst for blood, some creepy whatever the hell it was appeared in my bedroom and decided to scare the life out of me.

The decor of the room looked like minimalist Halloween decor and it creeped the shit out of Hazel. "What have I gotten myself into?" Hazel asked herself as she looked around trying to find some unseen demon. Although she was now in this realm, there was no way she was one of them nor could she ever be.
