The Alpha’s Girl
Symbols moved subtly across its surface, shifting like living script.
She placed it gently on the altar.
“This book,” she said quietly, “doesn’t belong to anyone, It decides who can use it.”
She rested both hands on the cover and closed her eyes.
Slowly, she tried to open it but nothing happened.
The book didn’t resist violently, it simply refused. The cover remained sealed, unmoving, as though her hands weren’t there at all.
Ms. Joyce frowned.
She tried again, murmuring words in an old language I didn’t recognize. The symbols on the cover glowed brighter for a moment, then dimmed.
