I carry out my updates like this to avoid unduly stretching the book, as I plan to finish this book with just sixty to sixty-five chapters. If I update everyday, I would have to be updating an average of fourteen thousand words in a week, which is kind of a lot for me to handle as I am also busy with work and other things. The proposal was six pages. He was aware, as he wrote it, that six pages was not a long proposal. Alexander worked with documents that ran to three hundred pages and found things to mark in all of them. But six pages was the right length for this, because the argument was not complicated and the data was sufficient and padding it for the appearance of thoroughness would have been exactly the kind of move that Alexander would mark as a revision point. The argument was structured in four parts.

I like making my chapters at least 3k words because I pack a lot into one chapter and I am unable to do that with a word limit of 1500-2k (to keep my chapters affordable I need to keep them between that word count). This story is dragging on because I'm trying to figure out how to keep it at a good pace while also keeping the chapters short and sweet. I'm afraid I'll either make the story too fast or as I am making it now, too slow. I am unable to find a healthy balance and this story is starting to become more of a burden than a joy like it originally is supposed to be.
