Julie led the way into the renovated book club. The space was transformed; it felt inviting and warm. While it kept the charm of the wooden interior, new elegant furnishings made it look vibrant. As I remember, the library section had expanded, with more seating arrangements, and the ambiance was comforting.

I said with a smile. Her eyes lit up with recognition. "Oh! You're the Gonzalezes! In the Miller beach house! We're so glad someone is finally living there year-round." She leaned in conspiratorially. "We have a weekly book club. Tuesdays at ten. We're starting a new mystery next week. Nothing too taxing. We'd love to have you." A book club. In fact, I can't wait to devour it. When is it coming out? I go online on my laptop to check. Next year? I have to wait that long? Now, this is just torture. Good people, good conversations. It might help you… reset a little.” I raised an eyebrow. “You? In a book club?” She gasped dramatically. “Wow. That’s rude.” I smiled faintly. “It’s not. I’m just surprised.” “It’s not boring, I promise,” she said. “And you might like it. It’ll give you something new to focus on.”
