How Novel Book Club Novels & Stories

We organize poetry slams, writing workshops, book discussions, and even field trips” I found myself intrigued despite my initial nervousness. The way Nathan spoke about the club made it sound exciting and welcoming. Rachel took over. “We know some of you might feel shy or nervous, especially if you’re new. Don’t worry. By the end of this semester, we’ll all be like a family”. Hearing that, I relaxed a little, a soft smile forming on my lips. Maybe this wouldn’t be as intimidating as I thought. "Billy? Huh, oh yeah, I'm fine. Yes. Lunch today, right." "Good, can't wait." She smiled again and left him with his jaw hanging open and a deer in the headlights gaze. When she got back to her desk, she sent Nicki a text asking him if he wanted to meet her for dinner and they could maybe go over their book club reading together. They met on Thursdays every other week for their book club. Most of the time, she got through half the book before she gave up and read the last chapter. Nicki would fill her in on the way over to the meeting what parts she was missing.

What commoner would read a book instead of working to earn a living? Such luxuries were exclusively available to nobles. So when someone like Riel looked down on their team, they were furious. Henry was unconcerned. He was already aware that Riel would be offended. "It was the one thing I really wanted to do... After all, I am not slacking in my practice. And the novel club also goes on dungeon runs to gain experience writing novels..." Henry continued to explain why he chose the novel club. "All right, you do what you want."

I just finished five chapters in one sitting. I grabbed my phone, opened Telegram, and went to my chat group, Lovely Buricats 💦. It's a lively space filled with writers, and as usual, I was late to the conversation. I started back-reading their earlier messages, trying to catch up on the chatter I had missed. She was amazed to see that it was everywhere. Even book clubs were talking about the book already and there were already groups created by fans of the book. The reviews were beyond what Tanya would have expected from an online book and the debates about it were just everywhere. All the while, everyone had one major question in mind. “Who is Unleashed?”

“And if it’s too much, we’ve got snacks and wine. That makes everything easier.” Settling in, I open the book and let them begin explaining the chapters. As Lilly and Luna start outlining the story so far, I can’t help but feel a mix of amusement and curiosity. A hen night turned book club, with a dark, strange novel at its center. It’s definitely not what I expected, but it’s already more fun than I thought it would be.

I sat on Xavier's lap, Dane and Theo on either side of me as we chatted with their parents, Marilyn already popping one of the faerie bottles and pouring four glasses. She handed one to me and I blinked in surprise. "If you're joining Book Club, you'll need to get use to the buzz." She winked. My ears twitched and they all chuckled. "You'd allow me to join your Book Club?" I asked, Xavier squeezing me sweetly. The mother's smiled at me, sitting shoulder to shoulder beside Dane. "Theo says you're reader of classics." I smiled and nodded. "I love them." Thena pulled out a bag from under the table.

"Who cares about gambling when she's there with that gorgeous boss of hers?" I could practically hear Hazel's eyebrows waggling. "Speaking of Mr. Tall-Dark-and-Loaded..." "We're not speaking of him," I cut in quickly. "Why are you both on the phone?" "TV became boring, so Hazel brought me the romance novels I asked for," Mom said. "We're having a little book club meeting." "Mom, you're supposed to be resting. Dr. Williams specifically said you need to take it easy." "Oh, Maddie, I am resting. I'm lying in this fancy bed, surrounded by these incredibly soft pillows, while Hazel and I discuss whether the duke should choose the wallflower or the feisty redhead."

The leather binding has fancy marks in it and has title imprinted on the front. "That first kiss." Ugh, from just the title you could tell that a teenage girl at the start of her puberty wrote it. I couldn't really tell if Nova's a girl or a boy, he wants to be called a "he" but then writes a full novel about a CEO obsessing over a girl. I don't know why Nova doesn't want to call it a book when it obviously was. Don't let the title fool you, the story slowly turns dark and twisted.
