The answers had been right there, in front of my face—it took pain, so much pain to reveal what I already knew.
“How—How do I find him?” I croaked, the voice within my mind growing weaker. I couldn’t handle much more of this; I wouldn’t survive it. The pain—the pain overrides everything else. It overrides my broken wrist, my cracked ribs and dislocated shoulder. It bathed my bones in acid and drenched my skin in fire. “How do I get to the castle?”
“Magic and a conduit. Passed through generations, lost through time. Calls to one, and one only.” The bull hissed, and anger flashed through me at the vague answer.
