Hunter X Hunter Symbols Novels & Stories

“He wants us to know this was no random attack. This was personal. A challenge.” Hugo clenched his fists, the vivid imagery churning in his mind like a storm. The symbol—Malrik’s twisted paw—was more than just a mark. It was a deliberate mockery of the unity that defined their pack. The crescent moon, traditionally a sign of protection and the werewolf bond, was engulfed in flames, a perverse declaration of chaos and destruction. Malrik wasn’t just sending a message; he was spitting on everything the Ocean Crest Pack stood for.

Nerina pointed to the eastern ocean. "My sanctuary." Aurel pointed to the northern mountains. "My temple." A third symbol pulsed beneath a vast desert. "The Guardian of Flames," Orion said. Another glowed within an endless forest. "The Guardian of Earth." A fifth shimmered over frozen lands beyond the northern sea. "The Guardian of Time." The sixth appeared over a chain of floating islands hidden among the clouds. "The Guardian of Stars." Finally... The last symbol appeared directly beneath Willowbrook Academy. Everyone stared. Lucien frowned.

Neo asks as he stares at one of the attendants' shirts. I hurry over to his side to take him away considering it rude to be staring at someone's clothes but I'm also caught off guard by a unique pattern on his shirt. It's not just this attendant but all of them. "That," Dexter says as he reaches our side, he glances at the symbol and smiles, "this is a very important symbol." Neo's brows furrow at his unanswered questions. "What does it mean?" He asks. "It's not just the meaning Neo but the belief, because we believe that these drawings will give us strength," Dexter tells him and Neo squeaks from excitement.

“Keep going.” So we did. I moved along the pillar, copying each section onto fresh parchment and handing the pages to Garrik. He compared the symbols against his book, writing whatever meanings he could beneath them. Most were guesses. Some weren't. And now that we knew what to look for, one symbol started appearing everywhere. Alpha King. Again. And again. Always among symbols we only partially understood. Moon. Blood. Strength. Clan. And repeatedly— First Luna. I copied another section and slid the parchment toward Garrik.

Jax murmured as his hand traced the wolf's forehead. Jace wiped the corner of his mouth, and drew closer to his brother. There was a symbol on the carcass forehead. They fell back in alarm. Both of them avoided looking at each other. They didn't want to betray the fear in each other's eyes. On the wolf's forehead was a symbol of the crescent moon! They trembled and finally glanced at each other... "What in heaven's name-" Jax felt goosebumps on his body. A chilly feeling crept around his heart...

As the wind blew her hair aside, I noticed a tattoo on her back in the shape of a snake slithered around a silver pentagram, its head black and its body red. As I followed her deeper into the woods with no way to escape from the wolves who guarded my every step, it struck me why the symbol seemed familiar. I had heard about it from our people, even as a little child who sat around the campfires and listened to the stories the elders of the Shadow Hunters told to scare us. Even Alex had warned me that this part of the land belonged to them. And up until this day, I never thought that they were real. The woman I followed was a witch.

But as its body hits the ground, Sera sees something that makes her blood freeze. A symbol carved into the creature's shoulder. Three lines intersecting in a pattern she recognizes. She shifts back to human, not caring about her nakedness. "Dante. Dante, look." He shifts, his eyes following her pointing finger. When he sees the symbol, his entire body goes rigid. "No," he breathes. "That's not possible." "What is it?" one of the pack wolves asks. Dante doesn't answer. He's staring at Sera, and in his eyes she sees the same horror she feels crawling through her gut.

Some of those supplies are nearly impossible to get without the right connections; I don’t have them right now. I sighed in relief when I found my hunter kit was still intact. “Let’s see what I will need?” I pondered, searching through my supplies. “Blue flame candle and holy oil for purification. Blood… well, she has some in the fridge, and I only need two drops. And chameleon bones. And then I need an object I can wear to enchant.” I sighed, setting everything I needed aside.

“Nightfall’s when the hunters move. You’ve heard of them… but I doubt you’ve seen what they do.” Lilith’s stomach tightened. “You mean like—silver bullets and wooden stakes?” Nathan huffed out a humorless laugh. “If only. That’s for rookies. Real hunters?” His gaze flicked toward the treeline. “They use Anasazi symbols, wolfsbane, silver-tipped arrows… and fire. Especially for us.” His voice dropped lower. “Fire’s the only thing that works on a Wendigo.” “You’re saying… they know there’s one of us here?” she asked.

It took another minute before I finally came back to my senses. "What's the prophecy?" I immediately asked him. "Do you know anything about this?" He shook his head. "I am not sure about it. And, Missy must be—" "No!" I quickly responded. "That's not Missy who was talking to me a while ago. It was someone who knew me and those symbols...what are they?" "It's a symbol of a family of lycan hunters who killed thousands of lycans and werewolves in the past." He explained. "I am not sure about it but I heard that those families got help from witches. However, they are all dead now."
