Adeline screamed, desperately struggling against the woman's hold. Even as Aling Maria tried to hold her back considering her condition, Adeline fought her way free. She ran out the door, rushing outside without caring about her surroundings. She searched every corner of the yard for Matthew. She walked away, heading toward the vast flower plantation where the blossoms had witnessed the intense sweetness of their love the night before. She cried out with all her might, screaming his name, hoping Matthew was just out there hiding or picking flowers for her. “Matthew! Hubby! Come out of there! Please don't joke with me like this!” she shouted, her chest feeling as though it were being crushed

"Mallory knows I despise activities like hunting or gardening, or anything that is similar to minimal labor. Anyways he had finally captured his prey when arrows shot from the sky. Mallory insisted I should be taken away and the last I saw of my husband he was jumped by individuals who hid their faces.” Adrienne paused and Oliviér took that as a queue to jump in. “I believe this is not the end of the story, Miss Buford?” Adrienne's face had twisted into a sad one making it seem she was upset from the story. She sniffled as she continued.

He is standing with his back turned against me, his eyes trained on the other person. I focus on him instead. He looks stunned, his eyes widened, and his lips parted. “That is impossible,” he mutters, shaking his head. “That veil hasn’t been breached in years. Who could have…” “Only one breed,” he drawls. “Hunters.” “Shit!” I didn’t think they were going to figure it out so fast. My breath hitches in my throat when he angles his head a fraction, when everything suddenly stops, as if he can sense me.

I took a seat next to Joy and listened to their conversation while focusing on my food. “Do hunters live in caves?” she asked. Atalanta shook her head, “no, in houses.” “Do hunters hunt their own food, or just wolves? Do they eat the wolves?” Atalanta almost choked on her food, “we keep animals, like chickens, and we hunt for deer. Hunters see werewolves as abominations, so they will not eat them. I honestly mostly got scrapes to eat and usually there wasn’t much meat left over.” “Abominations?!” Joy had said, clearly feeling insulted.

She said, trying to remember the vague of memory, “I'm hunting-” “The hell misty!” “My lady should let me finish my words please?” She giggled, kinda amuse. “And what's wrong hunting if it's for the love of my life?” “How can hunting be related to love, Misty?” My mind spun to the idea, given a destructive results if relates the act to love. She shiver, and somehow a thing last night came to her mind. She murmured, “So if ever, I was hunt... for love?” Misty's eyes widened. “Are you being hunt, my lady?”

He replied. I smiled, “Smart man. Well it was good to meet you, I am headed to Maine and I have three hours still to drive so I better get going.” I said. “It was good to finally meet you in person, Snow. You are every bit as beautiful as they say, if not more.” Shane replied. “Thank you.” I said and flashed him a million dollar smile while walking out the door. Hunters were connected through a vast network and it wasn’t uncommon to run into each other out and about. Still, it gets me when they know my name and I've never seen them before. In all these years it still surprises me.

He looked around him and all his men were gaining victory. Adeline was in the midst of it all unharmed because Coast had claimed to want her himself, she watched him get close to her and she tried to run away but he caught up with her by throwing a spear straight into her leg, Adeline was pinned to the ground screaming from having a spear pierced through her leg. “Coast please spare me, I beg you” she begged once again. “What happened to all the things you said about killing me and my mate, are you retracting your words” he asked.

We are here to find our way back to Alexander, but she is a wolf obsessed with finding her goal. Never stopping to rest, Adeline keeps hunting our mate until the wee hours of the morning. The sky turns a beautiful shade of orange and purple as the sun rises in the sky. I watch the breathtaking sunrise from behind Adeline’s eyes and I beg her to stop and take a break for a few hours. Letting out a little humph of frustration she finally tires herself out and lays on the hard ground and closes her eyes. Once Adeline’s mind is calm once again I let myself rest and we fall into a deep sleep.

"We just need to get out of the open. We’ll find a place to hide together. A hollow log, a cave... anything." "Hide?" A sharp voice cut through the dark from just behind us. Even though I couldn’t see her face clearly, I knew it was Mirabel. I would recognize that sneering tone anywhere. "That’s your big plan, Adeline?" She chuckled and stepped closer. "You three really think hiding like scared rabbits is going to save you? If you had a single wolf between the three of you, maybe you’d have a real chance at surviving the night. But no, you’ll probably just trip over each other in the first five minutes and serve yourselves up on a silver platter."

She’s still near the chief, still within killing distance, but she’s injured which slowed her movements. I make a mad dash for her, quickly pulling a pistol out of my holster– aiming straight for the chief. BANG! BANG! Two thunderous gunshots ring in the air, for some reason, sounding heavier than the fighting in the background. But wait, my finger is still resting on the trigger… I didn’t fire those two rounds… My eyes widen in realization, my mouth dropping open as an agonized scream rips from my throat. I watch helplessly as Adeline stumbles and falls to the ground.
