Or so I had hoped. A large earthquake rocked the area, causing the four of us to stumble. I couldn’t keep my balance long enough to refocus and the result was disastrous. Souls quickly started pouring into the large room, whipping past us and lashing out in the only way they knew how. Many people wondered why they woke up with bruises and cuts that they randomly got during the night. They often mocked those who claimed the undead souls did such a thing… but they were not wrong. Vengeful souls, when released in our world, could do physical harm, though rarely.

I never thought that I had a soul. I never gave any thought to the notion. But now I know I have a soul because I can feel it being ripped apart. I never knew there was pain like this in the world. I’ve suffered all manner of injuries in my life, but nothing will ever compare to this. It feels like someone has taken my soul, tied it to a tree and is whipping it with razor blades. Every whip brings a new wave of agonising pain and a gaping hole where my heart used to be.

He looked at me, and his eyes were full of something I didn’t often see in wolves that had been in battle—fear. “Their souls, Eden,” Orrin murmured. “They weren’t just killed… their souls were ripped from their flesh. Consumed.” As soon as he said those words, I felt a chill down my spine. I’d fought rogues. I’d seen massacres. But this? This wasn’t savagery. It was a message.

It is a place where hope goes to die, and where the remnants of life are cruelly extinguished, leaving behind nothing but eternal darkness.

I was feeling the pain of the sprinkles of holy water being thrown at me, it's like glass cutting through my flesh. I was wailing with pain as every words written in that stupid bible cuts my insides, I can feel my bile rising up my stomach as I vomit brownish green fluids out. I can feel myself weakening. It's as if my soul is being cast out of Cassidy's body.

I don't think he will come to me tonight because he has so much explaining to do to Mitchell and she is his soul and soul is more important than shame. I sat in a cab, sending a text to Joanna that I am fine and going home, and asked her to go home safe and let me know once she is at home. There is so much hurt, anger, and embarrassment inside me that I am afraid I am going to burst but I locked everything inside my head and heart for now. I can't have a mental breakdown in a cab. Hansel gazed at his back with mixed feelings; thorn between hurt, pain and regret. "Damn that bitch!" He roared, thumping the glass of wine to the floor. Shuffling back to the sofa, he put the bottled of whisky on his lips and gulped down some of its content. As the liquid burned its way down his chest, he winced and closed his eyes. Ben's words echoed back in his head.

"but please don't leave me. I'm sorry Faith....I'm sorry please come back....come back to me. I promise I'll be good. I will never hurt you again Faith, I promise I will never hurt you" My chest stung as I pressed harder. "You know Faith....after you left, I felt like my soul left my body. I was such an idiot to believe in those false lies. I didn't believe my life, my faith.....I know you are really angry with me....really angry with me and that's okay" I moved the blade across my chest "I will wait for you Faith, because I know you are angry with me but you did wrong as well. You shouldn't have got married with him" I gritted my teeth, allowing my tears to fall.

I need to go ahead with my plan, so if hurting myself brings the humans to me, then so be it. I thrash in the tank as my talons rip scale after scale from my body. I shriek in the water as blood clouds it. I hear footsteps rushing towards me. Orders being shouted and I smirk. They will all die. One final hooray before I am resigned to my fate. For my people, they will never be hurt by me again.
