The next morning, the guards and chef were already awake before I was. I had barely finished washing up when I saw them standing in the main hall waiting for me. Judging from the looks on their faces, they had already seen what was happening outside. I turned toward the street beyond the one-way glass just in time to see a swarm of grotesque zombies roaming the roads. Some still vaguely resembled humans, but most were drenched in blood, their faces twisted into horrifying shapes. A few were so badly mutilated that their organs spilled out as they ran.

"This… this!" Terrified, Clara stared at the scene that was unfolding before her. 'How is this possible?! 'There are thousands of zombies!' 'Besides…' It was Clara's first time opening her eyes so wide. She rubbed her eyes, thinking she was seeing things. 'Six zombies with purple-golden eyes? 'Rank 9 Zombies!' The sight of it made Clara feel as though her soul was leaving her body. She quickly turned to look at Lucas only to realize his stunning face was still wearing a calm expression. It was as if he could not see anything.

It was surrounded by those 'walkers', stumbling around like they were in a trance. "What are they?" He breathed out, staring in disbelief. He chugged some water, letting out a sigh of hydrated relief. "They call them walkers." She pointed the screen down slightly to allow him to see easier and switched to the website she was reading. "There's information on them, finally." As Adam read, she watched his expression change from confused to terrified. "This is like an actual zombie movie." He spluttered, barely able to get his words out. Behind them, a stirring caught their attention.

Amelia's POV I woke up to the blinding lights coming from the unprotected florescent blub in my room. I stopped the rays from entering my eyes by raising my hand to block it. I got a headache when I did that. Moving became difficult,it was as if paralysis has from no where taken full grip of my entire body. I tried calling on the nurses but I had also lost my voice for some reasons. I felt really strange,just then I saw a bunch of people coming into the room,they looked like zombies and they all had a weapon with them.

The good vibes didn't last. That night, the first scream since the apocalypse ripped through the complex. *** I watched the zombies go in. Three of them. I shoved the kittens under the bed and slid in after them, barely breathing. The first-floor residents were dumb enough to light candles and draw a bath. They were the first ones cracked open. One zombie looked like he'd been a beggar—filthy, matted hair, yellowed teeth. Like he hadn't eaten in years, he tore the man's stomach open with his nails and dug in.

What she failed to see was that it had all been hard-earned through my own efforts and sacrifices. Over the years of fighting alongside Shawn, I knew exactly how he thought. I told him straight, "In 13 days, the zombies will appear. The serum from the Westfound lab has leaked, and the world is about to face a crisis." As expected, Shawn looked at me like I was crazy, but he didn't outright call me insane. "You're Shawn Decker. Your parents are district commanders, and your grandfather is…" I raised my finger, pointing to the top. "He's the second-in-command."

A human-shaped thing with half its face missing, its neck twisted at an unnatural angle, staring up at me. Its eyes were cloudy white. Its mouth was still chewing on something. It saw me. My legs went weak. I almost collapsed. This is it. I’m dead. Suddenly, Duke clamped his teeth onto my pant leg and yanked hard. “Woof!” A short, sharp bark. He didn’t charge downstairs. He dragged me upward. Toward the rooftop. I snapped back to my senses. Right. Up. Zombies move slow on stairs. I forced myself forward, dizzy from the fever, scrambling up on hands and knees.

" I looked at the three blue vials that appeared in my hand and smiled. With these, Mom and Dad could awaken their superpowers, so we'd finally have the power to protect ourselves in this apocalypse. "Damn it… I almost forgot about you while dealing with the two losers." The bald leader was about to charge forward and hack at the door when a deafening roar erupted from the end of the street. The fresh scent of blood had drawn an even larger horde. Zombies poured in like a tidal wave, and their glowing red eyes were a terrifying sight in the darkness. "Boss, the zombies are here! Run!" Chapter 12 Zoe's POV I opened my eyes weakly and found myself still lying on the floor and this time not chained... The ceiling was the first thing I could see and I could tell it looked the same, as the day she got kidnapped... “Finally, you’re awake” I heard someone say and I lifted my head to see Damon... He is back!! I trembled in fear, Looking at his face is giving me goosebumps... I gulped down nervously...

I turned around to see a tall man, with long jet black hair, and black eyes. He had a dagger in his hand. "What do you want?" I asked in an angry tone. The next second, he was standing close to me. Damn those speed abilities of vampires. "You." He whispered and dug the dagger into my abdomen. "I came for you Zoe. I want to kill you. Like I killed your parents." He said, twisting the dagger inside me. The cut in my abdomen wasn't healing. My eyes weren't focusing clearly.
