I said agreeably. “Isn’t it better if we make sure she wakes up feeling better first?” Irena asked carefully. “She’ll be better, I will see to that” I said so confidently to them all and tightened my hold on her. Her smirk only added fuel to the fire of irritation brewing within me. "What do you want?" I snapped, my patience wearing thin as she chuckled, the sound grating on my nerves. "Watch your tone, girl," she growled, her expression turning serious. I scoffed, unable to contain my frustration. "You've caused me more harm than good, and now you must pay,'' she added as she played with her nails, I hated that she had the upper hand over me, I hated that she was going to exploit my weaknesses.

I muttered. “Maybe,” she allowed. “But not for the reasons you think.” I frowned slightly, confusion cutting through the haze in my head. “What does that mean?” “It means,” she said, “you’re acting like the worst thing you did was get caught.” That hit harder than I expected. “That’s not….” I started, but the words fell apart before I could finish them. Because… maybe it wasn’t entirely wrong. She didn’t push. “You made mistakes,” she continued. “You hurt someone. You hurt yourself. And yes, you handled things badly.”
