Scratching the back of his head, Aiden says, " Do you even remember what happened that night? You can't say you didn't sleep with her." Arguing with Loga goes " Yeah, man, you created trouble for us and now you dont even know if you slept with the girl or not, man, get yourself together." He left the office angrily. Tears finally spilled. Me: I don’t want to ruin your life. Logan: You’re not ruining my life. You’re part of it. My chest ached. Me: I don’t know how to do this. Logan: You don’t have to know. You just have to stay. I closed my eyes. “I’m trying,” I whispered.

But his expression quickly changed to one of displeasure at his next statement. “But you showed up without even knowing who your date was,” Logan says, his jaw clenched. I give him a shaky shake of my head. “To be honest, I wasn't interested. Scar blackmailed me,” I told him, explaining that if it was someone else, I planned to spend the entire date playing games on my phone, to which Logan laughed.

Hunter says handing me my cup, I took a couple small sips from the water calming down. "Thank you for trying to save me little one, but I didn't need saving, what me and Hunter have done was something consensual, he didn't do anything that I didn't want him not to do," Logan explain to me and I felt stupid now, I tried to attack my boss's mate and now I'm sitting in my boss lap crying.

I eyed him with a grin, then my lips formed a frown as I sighed. "Are you worried about Clark and Heather?" he asked, surprised how he knew what I was depressed about. I guess starting as friends take its effect without using our tongues. I saw a stool and sat down. Logan went over and grabbed one himself, placing next to me as he sat. "Yeah, I was so mad when Lily told me they could go back to school and forget what just happened to me." Logan placed his hand over mine as I felt the spark. Once our skin touched, I took the opportunity and had our fingers locked together.

Logan's heart was tripping already, he is grown up enough to know when his father is about to lose his patience, and when t act fast. Well, it seems like he has forgotten it too soon to take the concrete actions to what he needed to say out of trouble. "Father, I didn't do anything," Logan lied.

“What the hell is going on with you? I did not think you did want any part of that and you said you did not, “Logan said in wonderment. “ I did not. But once I make up my mind then I wish to stick to it. I don't like being complicated and if you're going to do something, then you should do it.”

“What are you talking about?” He clenched his jaw. “Did you remember Adam?” “Not exactly,” I answered, feeling like an idiot. I didn't owe him any explanations. “But that's not your problem.” Logan smiled bitterly. “It’s not my problem?” I swallowed, the tension in the room clouding my mind. “It isn’t.” Logan ran his thumb across his bottom lip. "Is this how you think things work?" I didn't know what to answer, so I just stayed quiet.

It left a ghost of weight there, like a promise. “Did you mean it?” Logan asked suddenly, holding the door open for me. “Mean what?” “What you said to that woman. About not giving up.” I looked at him. “I meant every word.” He gave a small smile, but I could see something else in his eyes. Like he wanted to believe it, but wasn’t used to people fighting for him. As we stepped outside, the afternoon sun greeted us again. Lily was skipping ahead, singing something about sparkles and rings.
