It's the final round of this year's Pack Pup Tournament. I can't take my eyes off my pup, Patrick Grant, as he wins the title. When the host calls Patrick's parents onstage to celebrate, I leap up, thrilled. But then I see Nicholas Grant, my Alpha mate, walk up with his secretary, Natalia Lawson. They stand side by side under the spotlight, kissing Patrick on both cheeks. It's as if Natalia is the mother, as if she's the Luna of our pack, as if they're the perfect family.

She had a few bandages on, having rushed to the fight rather than stay at school to treat her wounds. “Illusion by Javed sir and power boost by Asif sir, looks like Sikandar is not on this side either,” Zara sighed in disappointment, “Well, I guess I will be taking out my angst on you two,” She stretched a bit before running towards the djinn, grinning like a maniac. “Stop you crazy kid!” Rehan warned her but Zara was too fired up. “Stand down you foolish child,” Rider Sikandar said. “Don’t underestimate her sir, she can absorb other people’s energy with her touch,” the Pillion-Riding Sikandar said.

I wanted to live my life just a Harry, not a Harry John Brooks, the name provides me the status and powers." All I need is to hold my girl into my arm, forever. "But I promise you, Quinn. I will take care of everything. So just trust me." I took both her hands and held with mine. "I trust you." She nodded her head and wiped her tears. Sheila's POV:

In two fucking words - A Goddess. For a moment I was distracted by her sheer aura and power, but the sudden thought that this display of power could attract enemies brought me back to the present. What fucking confused me was how the hell had she kept this much power hidden? "Kiara." I called her quietly. Her and Raven both turned, the brat looked alarmed but Kiara looked pissed. It was the only way I could describe those astonishing purple orbs of hers and the gaze that was directed right at me. "How could you?" She said.

this time Ryan answered. “Because when you are queen, your true powers will be activated. You will have the power to heal, the power to make the world prosper and the power to bless those who cannot have kids with fruitful wombs and more. At least that was what my parents told me. a true queen will bring many blessings to her people and our kingdom will prosper under her reign.” It was all too much and not at all what I needed. “You are the direct descendent of the goddess Sara and you have some of her powers.” That did it, my head buzzed then went blank and before I knew it. I was falling.

She had discovered the beginnings of her power. They hadn’t broken her. They had awakened her. And now, she would wait—for just a little longer. Because when the moment came, when her strength returned in full, Serena wouldn’t just escape. She would rise. And nothing—not spells, not silver, not even ancient creatures stitched from bone and shadow—could stop her.

She threw her hands around my neck. “Yes, I want to join! I promise I will train really hard and get as strong as you! Maybe someday if I train hard enough, I can become one of your warriors! Then I could kick the bad guy’s butt and help other kids like me. You are the best! I can start training tomorrow. I promise I will do good.” She was still hugging my neck as she talked.

It sent every one of my warriors flying, and it almost had me too, but I was quick to root my paws firmly into the ground. Fuck! I didn't need any damned shaman to tell me who just released such an enormous wave of energy. I could feel it. It had to be Sheila. That force carried its energy from the air and the earth. She must have channeled it. I didn't know if I should feel proud of her or worried. She didn't have any memories from her childhood, and hadn't practiced in a long time but was still able to channel something this powerful. She was indeed a Black in every way.

I asked. “Well,,she can actually absorb your powers, I mean everything. So nobody wants to get on her bad side or your powers will be gone.” Perse said and I couldn’t help but wonder if my powers are still intact. “What’s your power anyway? Or powers?” Perse smiled. Seraphina joined us now. “Who preached to her?” I asked. The girls laughed and Sera roll her eyes. “Your power” Sera said. “Nope, tell me yours first,” I smiled.

she said, looking angry and exasperated, but I still didn't buy it and she seemed to have sensed it. “Look, stop acting stubborn okay. I’m the part of Sharlynn that she’s been unable to let loose in times of danger – I am her warrior, Reyna. I’m just one of Sharlynn’s numerous powers – the only one she is probably ever going to need because she is always in danger." She explained and I scoffed yet again, asking myself - who does she think she's fooling?
