And here I was, running back to it, like a lost child seeking comfort.
With the last remnants of my strength, I stumbled onto the porch, barely keeping myself upright. My knees buckled, and I collapsed against the door, gasping for air. My hands trembled violently as I clutched at my chest, trying to steady my breathing, trying to stop the panic from consuming me entirely.
