I've Tried So Hard Novels & Stories

I try to say it with my eyes, try to push the words across the distance between us. I'm not worth it. But then again, I don't believe a single word of it.

"I am Tiara. It'you who is not trying to come back to me." "No, you are lying. I am trying!!!" I screamed with frustration. "Then try harder baby for us. For me." I am saying the truth, for some reason, I want to go close to him as if he is the answer to all my suffering. But I am once again feeling as if I am tired because all my trying are futile. No this can happen to me. I wiggle, I thrash to get put off whatever is trying to stop me from reaching him but I couldn't and that's when I accepted that, maybe I was never meant to be with him.

The answers to the questions that have been nagging me for as long as I couldn’t tell. “Nice try. But it won’t work on me.”

"I was so stupid." "I'm trying my best to move on. Why are you making it so hard for me?" She cast her gaze down to the wooden table. "You keep messing with me and I really need you to stop. You have no idea how difficult this whole thing has been." Oh, but I did—I really, really did.

Mark just froze, staring at me with those eyes. Then he grabbed my wrist, yanked me into a hug, and muttered, "I'm sorry. It was all my fault. I messed up. Jenna, you said you'd love me forever. Just one more chance? Please?" I gave him a tired smile. "Mark, I'm so done. I'm too tired to love you anymore." His face went ghost-white. Panic hit his eyes. "No... that's not possible. You can't just stop loving someone."

I really wanted to blurt that out but once again my tongue betrayed me. "I'll try my best." I promised once again. Stupid, stupid me.

And no matter how hard I tried to convince myself otherwise… I still wanted her.

It wasn’t working especially well. But I kept trying.

Too loud. She tried pressing her ears on the door but she could only hear muffled conversations. She couldn’t make out the words. Resigned, she went to eat what she could stomach. The coffee is not sweetened. The bread is kind of hard to swallow. Eventually, she dunked it in the coffee and allowed it to soften a bit before she put it in her mouth. What is she supposed to do now? Who are they after? Her dad? Her family? Or Christan?
