Lucian's P.O.V ​I fucked up. ​I mean, it's not like I'm not used to fucking up, because I am. But to fuck up to this caliber with something so new and good, that was different. And it hurt. Hurt a lot more than I was prepared for, but I guess that's the case with mates. ​Iris had one rule. One simple, yet stupid, annoying rule: no touching.

But now…” She reached for his hand. “Now you don’t have to carry it alone.” They walked back inside together. But as they reached the main hallway, the portrait of Elena… …it was gone. Only the empty space remained. Abby’s breath caught. “Where did it go?” Edward stared, jaw clenched. “It’s never done that before.” Abby’s voice shook. “What if she’s trying to tell us something?” He didn’t answer. But deep in his eyes… was fear.

Standing in the dressing room, my hands fidgeting, thinking on whether I should escape or not. I was about to get married to my crush that every girl dreamt of marrying but there was a huge problem. I am just a replacement for his ex-lover and I thought he loved me but nope I was wrong. I regret every second I spent with him. taking a handful of my long wedding dress, I ran towards the escape plan and setup. There was a cab waiting for me outside but a few blocks away. I ran and ran till I reached the cab, not looking back. time to change everything and make this one die.

“Have a good evening.” It’s all he says before pumping his wings and then rising into the sky so that he mixes with the bats and airplanes that hover high above, and it is only when he is out of sight that I move and lean against the banister so I can stare down at the city below. “Fuck,” I growl, brushing my hand along my face while my anger continues to ebb and flow. “What the fuck is wrong with you, Ciaran?” ‘Don’t you know.’

I voiced out. "And whose fault was that?" she said glaring at me. Your psychotic mind, I mumbled beneath my breath, just then she decided to drop one of her crutches, she tried to make it look like an accident but failed miserably. She's going to be the death of me, mumbled before adding a string of curse words to the statement. I hurried over to her and supported her falling figure by putting my hand around her waist leading her to the nearest table. I ignore how right it felt to place my hand around her waist or how she seemed to fit perfectly in my arms every time I carry her. I went to pick up the fallen crutch and made my way back to her.
