Maya's pov I grunt, rolling to the other side of the bed ducking my head under the pillow. The banging on my door intensifies with each minute, each thud sharper and more insistent. With a frustrated sigh, I shove the stack of books off my bed, shuffling for my phone under the covers. Coming out empty-handed I step off the bed; the polished floor biting at my bare feet. The pounding on my door grew louder and by now I wanted to kill whoever was on the other side. If it's another drunk who has confused his house number again, I will lose it.

I smiled. The next day I told Melody about yesterday and she told me to make him jealous. "Is Jace even the jealous type?" "Oh yeah, just make him jealous and he will wake up and make a move." She told me before drinking blood. "Alright. You know, normal people have coffee in there." I chuckled. "I was going to put coffee. But blood was more appealing today." She grinned. "Compel that hot guy, and make him flirt with you." She told me.

“Dad!” I cried as my eyes shot open, I could hear my heart beat loudly in the walls of my chest, fresh puffs of hot air left my lips as I felt my eyes sting, I felt like someone was banging heavily on my head and like every other time that I had woken up like this, I tried to curl into myself. But for some reason, I just, couldn’t.

Igneous immediately swoops me up off the floor. For a split second my beast seems to calm at having him near. Then she goes haywire once more when she inhales the scent of his release that is so potent on his skin. He would take charge when he knows we suffer. How dare he treat us this way. She spits flames in my mind as she sets her enclosure on fire and the pain in my mind ricochets as my back bows in agony. I'm on the floor in front of the fireplace now as Igneous quickly tries to start a fire. Suddenly a dark void fills my vision. Black eyes look into mine and then quickly disappear. I see the void push Igneous away from the mantle as it takes the gasoline fear and throws it on the wood.

There was a bedside table next to her with a glass of water and a bucket next to the bed. "Hello," her voice came out in a cracked whisper. "Hello," she said even louder. "Is anyone there!? Can anyone hear me!? Please. I need help!" she said as she started to cry. This was real, and she had no memory of how this happened. How long had she been here now. Did she wake up prior to this and do the same thing? She looked down at her ankle, which burned the most. It was raw, and it looked like burnt flesh all around. She felt the metal around her ankle, and it burned to the touch. She was being captive with silver. Is that what was making her so weak?

He said and I ignored him. "Here." He suddenly put a medium size box in front of me. I turned to him and he gestured me to open. I opened the box and saw chocolates inside of it. "So.. what do you say kiddo? Forgive me?" "If you call me a kid once again, I will.. I will.." I will what? "Will what? Cancel the engagement?" He asked and I turned to him. "I will never!" "Then what will you do?" He smirked.

*** Present day Alec Romano My nose burned as I snorted a line, and I felt the warm buzz burn my head. "That's cool, can I try?." A very wide-eyed Irene asked me. I scoffed. "No." "Please…" She begged. I looked at her, my red eyes looking at her over again. For a moment I admired her, her deep black curls flew down freely on her shoulders, her black inked eyes were beautiful, the way she pouts her mouth made my heart warm up as I turned back to my coke. "Shut up," I growled. She sighed and mumbled inaudibly to herself, I raised a brow, "What did you say?."

"Because it looks like those little cuties were seeking my attention." "You're so full of yourself, Shame on you!" "I'm full of myself only when I know I'm right. Do you know I can hear the sound of your heartbeat? how hard your heart is beating against your chest. Don't you tell me it's because you're angry. It's because of my presence. I've seen you swallow painfully in between your words and it's because of my presence. I'm sure as hell that there are goosebumps all over your body. Yes, it's because your body cannot deny my presence, the fact that you're attracted to me."

"Because I brought her here. I would know if I was bringing danger right into our pack." I headed upstairs into my bedroom and waited patiently as I watched everyone leave the cabin. And then I smelled her scent. She lingered outside my room door. I heard her walking inside and then she shut the door behind her. "You're my mate," she whispered. I turned around to face her and saw the tears in her eyes as she stepped closer. "Why are you trying to deny it?" "It's difficult to explain," I said.

Ian was fuming inside because Kimberly wasn’t giving him an reasonable explanation as to why she can’t go camping, she rather chose to ignore him, which killed him even more. “Can you give me one good reason why you’re ignoring this conversation?” he suddenly asked with clenched teeth, hoping she’d enlighten him more on why she was against the trip. But didn’t get a response from Kimberly, who instead of answering his question, totally ignored it. That was it! He can’t tolerate her acting like he didn’t exist. Storming to her, he grabbed her by the arm, making her yelp in pain. “Answer me God damnit!” he fumed.
