The cut ran to a point in the middle of the four arms of the cross and broke the light in various rainbow tones. The little spots of color danced on her skin to the rhythm of the speeding car. Although it had neither a hole nor an eyelet, it looked as if it belonged to a piece of jewelry and Aurelia figured out that it might have come off an employee's necklace.

_Aria's POV_ The glowing red symbol flashed once more. My heart pounded so hard that I could hear it in my ears. For several seconds, neither Rowan nor I moved. The room seemed strangely quiet.
