I saw how My eyes radiated with inner fire,the kind that came with the understanding of what I needed to protect because I couldn't afford to lose it. I placed my hand on my belly bump once more, feeling the coming life inside shift. No promises this time. Only preparation. The ground beneath my boots was a slick, treacherous mess of mud and water, threatening to swallow me whole with every step.
