Her nose flared with a frustrated huff as she let herself flop back onto the grass. The leaves in the canopy above swayed in the warm summer breeze, while a Halequin flew above the trees and the song of cicadas buzzed in her ears. Iwaoka appeared back in their little camp with a small boar he’d caught for dinner slung over his shoulder. He set it down next to the campfire and walked over to Faline, looking down at her with raised brows. “What are you doing, Faline?” “Basking in my misery," she answered in a dry voice.

Now the table had turned. Flora stepped closer to Lifaya. She sniffed around her neck and then smirked. "A Lycan...." Flora murmured. She scoffed at her then murmured, "Can't believe a Lycan became the pet of an alpha's bed. No wonder you two were fated mates before. I hope you will get your matebond back." Flora felt Aaron's dark gaze on her back. She ignored it completely and grinned at Lifaya. She raised her hand, which stunned Lifaya. Flora laughed and patted her cheek.

Faye nodded, then lay on the bed with a tired sigh. She caught something move out of the corner of her eye and turned robotically to get a better look. It was a cockroach. Letting out a loud scream, Faye jumped off the bed—and straight into Ryuu's arms.

Thorns bit into her skin, crimson soaking her shredded fur. "You think you can destroy me?" Elyra sneered, twisting her wrist. The vines pulled tighter, crushing the breath from Tasya’s lungs. “Shall I end you first, Insect?” Tasya gasped, clawing at the restraints, her golden eyes wide with panic. “L-Luna—help—” Elyra turned to me, her expression calm. Akira stretched all of her muscles before padding out of the hut. A giant Lycan was waiting for us outside. He was towering over my wolf at least by a 5-foot difference.
