I feel like a very useless person. It's all my fault.

“It’s not the guard’s fault. It’s my fault–actually, it’s your fault too.” I closed my eyes for a second at the last thing I said. “What?” Sir Calix asked with a frown while putting down his phone. “My fault?” his eyes rolled like saucers. “I mean, it’s my fault because I didn’t remember the directions to here. Your fault is that you didn’t give me a visitor’s ID. Isn’t security here strict? You know that.” I straightened my lips, gradually raising both ends of my lips. When Sir Calix continued to frown, still gazing at me, I smiled with my teeth showing.

"Stop. It's not your fault." I hadn't even realized I'd been projecting into our mindlink. "But it is," I whimpered. "It's all my fault." "Listen to me." None of this was your fault.” I was about to protest, but she noticed and held her hand up to stop me. “It. Was. Not. Your. Fault. Yes, when we escaped we lost some people. What you don't seem to understand is that we were at war. When you are at war it is guaranteed that lives will be lost on both sides. As much as we would like to think ourselves to be indestructible, we are not. Not even you. We all have our faults, but it's how we handle our faults and the fall outs that really matter.

I shot back. She was dumbstruck, unable to speak. “Now, you answer me!” I spat. “That was none of my fault. Two wrongs don't make a right.” Her voice broke. “Yes, it does.”
