He collapsed onto the wet grass, coughing violently as river water and blood spilled from his lips. His whole body shook. The bitter cold of the river clashed violently with the intense fever of his Null heat. Because Beta Verrin's potion, his body was radiating the intoxicating perfume of warm cinnamon and wild violet. Jace lay in the mud, gasping, his long silver-grey hair matted against his pale, scratched skin. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he clutched his bruised chest, his heart hammering a weak, frantic rhythm

My phone buzzed. Jace. “Did you find her?” “She’s alive.” My voice was strained. “But it’ll take time.” Jace exhaled. “And Joshua?” I hesitated. “Dead.” Silence. “Shit. You killed another man?” Jace let out a low whistle. “You planning on joining the mafia, or what?” I clenched my jaw. “I didn’t kill him.” A beat passed. “Wait… Raisel did?” I stayed quiet.

I stood there for hours, praying to die. Until my neighbor, Mr. Collins, came in the morning to look for Jack. I don't remember exactly what happened. I remember waking up the next day in the hospital. I hated the fact that I was still alive and Jack didn't. I wanted to die more than anything. They had killed my whole life. One shot changed everything. One night changed my life completely. It took more than 6 months before I was able to shake off the incident. I had nightmares every night.

His expensive leather uniform was shredded, covered in deep, jagged claw marks, and his entire left arm was soaked in dark, thick blood. Korr lunged past Damon, his blade slicing through the thick oil rope above my head. I hit the mud hard, gasping, a violent, ragged breath rushing into my burning lungs as I choked. "Korr..." The locust hops into his mouth and in attempt to vomit it, Jace swallows it He starts hitting his head on the concrete floor and glass window, picks up a glass and cut his stomach up. His intestines and liver fall on the ground blood running like a stream, within seconds Jace falls dead. The insects which devoured the people in the gym slowly crawls to Jace's body through his open stomach, just then his innards slowly return back to his stomach

At that moment, Hunter received news of Jace's death. "Jace is dead?" Hunter's expression changed drastically when he heard the news, but he became calm very quickly. He wasn't concerned about the death at all. However, with Jace's death, the feud between the Beckards and Sebastian would go beyond the point of no return. Late at night, a strange, extremely thin figure in a burial suit pushed the door open to Hunter's room and entered. "Mr. Reynolds, things aren't progressing smoothly at all. All four of the experts sent to protect Jace have fallen, and even Jace himself has died at Sebastian's hand," Hunter said to Elton, looking grim.
