Even though they were exhausted, the Blade's dim brightness kept them focused on their mission. They eventually arrived at the centre of the labyrinth, a big room filled with a strange, fluctuating light. A pedestal with a piece of crystalline light on top stood in the middle of it. It beat in time with the beat of Kael's heart. With amazement in her voice, Zara said, "The Fragment of Truth." The surrounding shadows started to twist furiously as Kael got closer to the pedestal. A tall figure—a representation of the Labyrinth itself—rose out of the shadows. It was a whirling vortex of light and shadow, constantly shifting in shape.

She stands next to me as I open the box and we both gasp. Inside, on a bed of red velvet, is a sapphire and pearl choker with a set of matching earrings. "These are stunning," Tilly pulls the necklace out to admire it. As she does, a card flutters to the floor. Bending down, I pick it up. "Something borrowed, something blue." I read aloud. "Atlas is just full of surprises." I smile in amazement. Atlas really did think of everything. "Ah, Cordelia," I look over at Tilly whose eyes are wide with shock. "I don't think those jewels are from Atlas."
