There was something strapped across her body that was lumpy between them. Her wings went out, and he scooped her into his arms in alarm, carrying her down towards Havermouth. He landed on the street and cast around, looking for somewhere to take her. The zombies were approaching this area of town, and he needed shelter. “You’re one of Sigrid’s, aren’t you? The weird, winged vampire. What are you doing?” A woman demanded from the door of her house. She was holding a small camera in one hand. “We’ve been told to stay off the streets, you freak.”

The battle below is vicious and loud, and the flying fury of fur and pale creatures makes for an almost stormy sea like movement across the depths. I can’t see who is who, but my attention is drawn up as something flies past me and crashes into the overhanging rocky ceiling above before plummeting back down in speed. It’s scares the shit out of me, my heart lurching to my throat and the three of us jump back against those behind us and inhale swiftly in perfect sync. The only direction that seemed Reaper-free was beneath me. I hurtled downwards, hoping to surprise them with a sudden burst of speed. The Reapers darted after me, accelerating faster than I’d expected. One of them grabbed my ankle and tugged me backwards. I kicked its skull, sending it crashing into a tower. Unfortunately, it had succeeded in slowing me enough for two more Reapers to catch up. They grabbed my wings, their sharp bone fingers tearing holes into the soft black membrane. I cried out in pain and struggled to free myself, but their grip was too strong. Below, pedestrians stared up to watch.

A stupid but sure-fire move to stop them. Suddenly there's a strong gust of wind coming from Jean, Trinity thinks this must be an attack, so he chants under his breath, all the pillars of the basement magnetically being forced towards Trinity's body. And the unexpected happens. Jean's shirt rips, showing his built figure underneath all the clothing, and then, black wings sprout from his back, a wingspan around that of two cars. Despite the shock of everyone, Cerise continues to run towards Jean and tackles him down.

Now the stampede that had gone where trumping back. Feral felt his spine run cold at the sight of hundreds of angels, four-winged, five-winged spread forth their wings within the sky as they speedily besieged them. His knees buckled slightly as the horror approached but he was a step faster and directly slammed the door closed. They had to escape. NOW!

I dropped lower and found myself over the ruins, my heart stopping cold in my chest as I caught sight of Amara falling over the cliffside. Erebos swiftly dove towards her, managing to catch her on our back mere yards from the river below.
