"You were standing there with red eyes and a stained blouse, trying so hard to look like you were not afraid." "I was terrified," I admitted. "I know," Joel said. "That was why I stayed." I leaned my head against his shoulder. His sweatshirt smelled of clean laundry and the cold winter air from the open windows. "What is the last sentence of the chapter?" he asked. I looked at the light moving across the floorboards, watching the dust motes drift through the sunbeams like tiny stars. "I wrote that some people come into your life to teach you how to survive," I said. "And some people come into your life to show you what survival was for."

“Ok, there is one thing that I’m pretty sure no one else knows. But this stays between you and me ok?” “Ok,” I promised. Joel took a deep breath, “Ok, so I always thought that my parents were dead, which is why I was adopted. I don’t know why I thought that. I’m not sure if that’s what I was told, or whether I always just assumed, but about 2 years ago, I found a letter that I’m pretty sure was from my birth mum, addressed to my adopted mum.” He paused so I asked, “Did you speak to your mum about it?”

And gave it one shut as he turns and concentrated on Anna who seems not to be okay. Just in a seconds the arrow returns. Joel didn't even look at it but he caught it at the mid air and adds it to where it belongs. Then he bends down and stares directly at Anna's face. She was really trying all her best but the funny thing was that it was just one bird that showed up. "What the fuck..." Jorel said looking at the bird that few over his head. Though the practice was going on smoothly till Levi showed up. And just as Levi was stepping in their midst Joel packs his belongings and left their presence.

Joel said, putting down his piece of pizza. “Ok so just listen. On my birthday everything got weird. I am stronger, I can hear and see better. All my senses have heightened. My family came from a descent of what they call hunters. So when all that happened a bumped into this guy and he can turn into an actual wolf. Oh wait, look , I have a book.” Nora said grabbing the book from here bag that she got with Jace, She grabbed the book and handed it to Joel. He flipped through the pages trying to hide his expression his friend was really making him concerned.

“I spent years teaching myself. I can read and speak both… not perfectly, but enough to hold a conversation. I just... it didn't seem important to mention at the time because everything was happening so fast.” Joel’s expression shifted. For the first time, something like approval flashed in his eyes. “Excellent. It makes everything much easier.” Estelle looked genuinely impressed. “That's wonderful, Isabelle.” ‘Wonderful.’ If only she knew. I forced myself to learn just to survive in that pack. I gave her a soft smile. Joel reached onto the side table and handed me a heavy, leather-bound photo album. “This is your bible for the next twenty-four hours,” he said.
