I wasn't about to bow down to her or anyone else in this hall. The partner switch brought me face-to-face with Jude. His hands felt warm and soft while with mine. “So,” Jude said, a playful spark in his eyes as he led me through the steps. “I suppose I should introduce myself properly this time, since losing a child wasn't exactly the best moment for an introduction.” I laughed, the sound feeling more genuine than any of the polite smiles and chuckles I’d been forcing all night. “I suppose that’s fair.” “Jude Carrington. I run a software engineering firm, I’m thirty years old, and I’m told I’m quite excellent at keeping my grandmother out of trouble, though today proves otherwise.”

Parker gasped as the realization of something dawned on him. "Jamie, you aren't in some... Some." Parker stuttered. "In some what man?" Jamie laughed. "Hold on a minute. Man, you aren't in some kind of cult group are you?" Parker asked. In stead of replying, Jamie pulled up his short to show Parker a tattoo. The tat was a rising eagle, it's eyes set on something in a distance. Upon seeing it, Parker's fears and thoughts were confirmed. His friend really did belong to a secret cult.

He looked old and sullen. The man to the right of Argus was a young man, about 20 at most with slick backed brown hair and a smattering of stubble along his face. He had a few scars and tattoos on his arms. He was the rapist father to one of the breeder's children. He was forced to work as a lowly warrior rather than the higher up one he was meant to become.

I couldn’t help but smile at the fascination that sparked in his eyes. “What on bloody earth is that?” he asked. “A magic mirror,” I teased before explaining to him the best way I could what exactly a television set was. I asked if he wanted to watch a movie, recalling the extensive DVD collection we’d found earlier that night. I asked him to pick a movie and he returned with two interesting picks: Chicago and the Godfather. It was almost a reflection of the kind of person that he was – a musician and a killer whose loyalty to family stood above all else – either way, tormented, with darkness constantly looming over him.

Doctor Greg yelled, attempting to wriggle himself out of the chair. Kira opened the pendant and saw two pictures, a woman and a child. She believed the woman was his wife, While the child was his daughter. She turned to him and narrowed her eyes. "You have a family, and you destroy other families without emotions. Is that all you do?" Trevor stepped towards Kira while answering her question and glanced at the picture. The face was familiar. He had seen it somewhere, but he couldn't remember where exactly. Trevor furrowed his brows and stared ahead as he tried to remember who she was.

“Just like you look like you spent half the night searching through the rubble of Lucille’s house to find scraps of my old underwear.” It was a lie, and there wasn’t a person in the room who didn’t know it. Jude’s hair was perfectly messy, hanging over his forehead to partially obscure his scar. The white t-shirt he wore stood out in contrast to the dark leather jacket. Several pins stuck out of the material, most of which for bands I didn’t recognize. “Don’t mean you aren’t still my goddess, little dove, and why would I search for scraps when I can steal the ones you’re wearing?” He winked.

I didn’t answer. I knew that he did not care, Not about me, not about mother, not about anyone else. I did not even understand how she lived with him throughout all this time, but this was what it was to be me, to be her, to be raised, to be obedient, to stand for a man, to do everything for you while you just obeyed. But when my eyes found him, I almost froze. The same man who stood there… He stood at the end of the aisle, beneath a silver arch of twisted branches and moonflowers, his face carved from stone. Dark hair, darker eyes. A black suit tailored like armor.

I'd thought my life was going to be the worse when father and mother decided to divorce not knowing someone never knew what it felt like to have a father around them. "Oops! Where are my manners? I didn't introduce myself." I slapped my laps and stared at the ceiling. "My name is Jade Parker and I'm not a popular or a nerd. I love to read books and write even if I haven't been doing them of recent. I have a fat headed brother and music is food for my soul." "Nice intro." She smiled sweetly at me. "I'm Lola Smith. I love to read books too and I've been a ghost in this school. Not exactly a nerd, but minding my business was like a job I was devoted to."

“We don’t even concern ourselves in the Gwakes’ affair. Who are you to get involved?” The mockery and taunts were directed at Kaze. “Really? Are the Gwakes really that awesome?” Kaze smiled nonchalantly and looked at Faith. “I slapped Jude at Drake Gym last night. “How are you, the wife, planning on getting even on behalf of your husband?” Faith and the other four ladies froze. He slapped Jude. His words stirred a wave of emotions in them. Who was Jude? He was the deputy chief of the Viper’s Den South River State Branch, an influential figure in Riverbank.

“You should have told them. You should have told her.” “I didn’t know how,” he said simply. “And I’m tired. I’ve spent my whole life watching shadows move, waiting for this day. No one believed me. Now that it’s here, they want me to prove my innocence. Let them.” Jina felt tears sting her eyes. Not out of sorrow, but the sheer complexity of what stood before her. This man wasn’t cruel. He wasn’t heartless. He was just... broken. “You still believe in her,” she said quietly.
