“Gator, this is Nya,” Slate, the dragon king, said as Nya followed him over to where the others were training. The fellow in question, a ginormous man, only an inch or so shorter than Slate himself, with massive, bulging muscles, was dressed all in black, a similar outfit to the one Slate always wore, except there were no red accents. Gator eyed Nya for a moment, his eyes traveling from her head to her toes and then back again. He nodded, his dark, shoulder-length hair swaying slightly with the movement of his head. “Nya?” he questioned.

The mace, meant for me, wavered. “You dare—” Gideon began, his voice a guttural roar. In that split second, as his father’s attention was fully on him, Kairi’s hand shot out with a speed that defied his condition. He didn’t have a weapon. He had nothing but his own broken body and a final, desperate act of love. He didn’t attack Gideon. He grabbed the haft of the mace. With a surge of strength that must have come from the very last reserve of his soul, he pulled. He pulled with all his might, unbalancing the Alpha just enough, guiding the weapon’s trajectory.

Makoto felt ashamed when he saw the old man. “Master Takei!” Carol also quickly went forward to greet him, a joyful expression on her face. Damian steps in front of me, blocking me from the creepy guy's view. “What do you want and who are you?” Damian yells. “Oh pardon me. My name is Fujin, Master of the Yashida Clan. The order of wind and air.” He bows. “And I believe you are wanted by Lord Raiden, Mr. Morningstar.” He smiles darkly. Yashida? I knew things could get this rough, so I insisted I go alone, despite Cara’s constant pleading and objection. He was huge and had a monstrous stature, which made it difficult to bring him down. He was extremely strong and a blow from his hand was rumored to be so strong, it could bring down a house if well-directed to its foundations and pillars.

“Thanks. Is India here?” “No. She’s holding down the fort. I hope we get lots of traffic because of the rodeo.” A long, lean man with McKay blue eyes and a riot of unruly curls waved. “Carter McKay of the Carson McKay branch. I’m Kade’s cousin. Macie’s my wife, and our son Thane is a couple months older than Eliza. They’ll have a lot of fun growin’ up together.”

Kade growls warningly but the blonde just laughs. "Don't be like that, I just thought you'd like to know who's going to be looking after your mate when you're dead." Kade turns towards him and the guy just lifts a gun, pointing it straight at my forehead and carries on talking as though he isn't. "I'm Jeff by the way. You've got to tell me, is she a good fuck?
