Kael shouted, standing up so fast he almost fell. "I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU! I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Lila stared at him, her eyes wide with shock and hurt. She opened her mouth to say something, but then closed it again. With a sob, she turned and ran back into the fortress, disappearing into the night. Kael watched her go, then sank back to his knees in the snow. He stayed there all night, kneeling in the cold, screaming my name until his throat was raw and bleeding.

"DADDY. You CRIED?" Killian's jaw twitched in a way that might have been embarrassment if he were capable of such a thing. "I didn't cry‚ Liam." "Daddy cried like a baby!" Dalia let out a bark of laughter so loud it echoed off the marble. "Oh I already love this kid."

Outside, a snowstorm was brewing. Kail finally ordered, “Get out.” The assistant ran out in fear. Click. The door closed and Kail was left alone in his bedroom. The silence was unbearable, and slowly, Kail started to collapse to the floor. He covered his face with his hands and sat on the cold floor quietly. In his mind, he couldn’t stop Solveig’s song from playing constantly. Devastation. Desperation. Silently, he cried out. He lost everything. His everything left him.

I said as tears started to fall down my cheeks. "I was so scared I'll never see you again, I wanted to cry and scream but I couldn't. I wanted to be back in your arms so much...and I felt so helpless and scared. It was like hell, even thinking about someone else marking me made my skin crawl" I said as I couldn't help but sob. "Hey hey it's okay Anaïs" Callan said as he quickly embraced me. Slowly shushing me, trying to get me to stop crying.

He shuffled off of the all too familiar chair, stood up straight and looked up at the man. "Fuck you," he spat and made the familiar march down the hall. He heard the gasp Ms. Willow gave. He heard his name being called and he even heard Mr. Barrett saying something along the lines of 'I told you so' but he didn't stop. He couldn't stop or they would see the tears running down his cheeks. Cailen stormed down the hall right past the playroom and down to the room that has come to be his permanently. He threw the door open, turning around and slamming it shut needing the full weight of his little body to do so. He climbed into bed, tears still falling from his eyes, and grabbed his pillow.

Roy offered. He hadn’t said much concerning Cassandra since news went round about the ritual, although he had spent most of last night and the entire day, calming Kylie down. He knew how much of a mess Kylie had been, he couldn’t begin to imagine what Caleb was going through. Caleb let out a sad chuckle, “I don’t know if it makes sense, but knowing that she’ll be fine, still brings me no succor.” Roy nodded, it did make sense. There was no amount of placating that could take away that fear that there was the possibility that things wouldn’t be okay. There were no words to tell Caleb. Times like this, silence was the best form of support.

It just zoomed off. Makaila and I landed on the grass and rolled in the mud. I heard a crack and I knew immediately that I had broken something but that wasn't what I was worried about. I walked over to where Makaila was lying down and sat on the grass next to, lifting her to face me. Even with the rain running down her face I could see she was crying. I don't know where the anger came from but I was angry. "Are you crazy?! You could have gotten yourself killed!" I yelled at her.

“The moment he saw you, he stopped fighting.” Ariana swallowed carefully. “Why?” “He looked terrified.” A strange chill moved down her spine. “Of me?” “Yes.” “That doesn’t make sense.” “No,” Kael agreed quietly. “It doesn’t.” Silence filled the room again. Then suddenly... Ariana gasped sharply. Another vision crashed into her mind without warning. Chains rattling loudly. A child crying. Silver eyes glowing in darkness. “Hide her.” The voice sounded desperate this time. “They’re coming!”

"Kak Javas, I ranked fifth. Is that okay?" Javas nodded. "No matter what rank you got, you did your best, right?" Aqila nodded. "Same university as Kak Javas, hehe." Kaila, on the other hand, started crying. Aris looked at her in confusion. "Kai? Why are you crying? Did you miss me that much?" Arif asked gently. Kaila shook her head. So what was making his girl cry? "Then what is it, hmm?" Arif teased, knowing it would probably be something silly.

And if Ethan was behind this. If he got Tyler arrested and released that recording—then he should know clearly that it was useless. Nothing he did would be enough to compare to what I went through. I still prayed that he burned in hell regardless. “What happened? Why are you crying?” Killian’s shocked voice snapped me out of my head. I looked up, to see his panic stricken face watching me. And then, he stretched his hands towards my face. Holding my chin like it was some precious jewel as he wipped my tears away.
