KIARA'S POV The black SUV moved to the end of the street and then turned to head away from town. Still, I stared out of the window. watching the blur of the green leaves whiz past me until I no longer recognize my surroundings. I took a deep, shaky breath and turned to see a dark eye fixed on me. “Whoa!“ I exclaimed. My entire body is covered in goosebumps as a result of my fear.I shifted uncomfortably to the end of the seat, feeling the coldness of his gaze.

My ears perk up, my eyes widening as I look around and squint my eyes at the dark. Now that I could see in the darkness, I ought to know how to fucking use it. It might be a bear, for all I know. I was running through the dark forest, branches, and bushes scratching against my arms and legs as I pushed through the foliage. In a sleepy little fishing village, a two-million- luxury SUV stood out quite a bit. Still, Kendrick didn’t think much of it—until he saw a man get out of the vehicle. Young-looking. Something about him felt… familiar. Just as he was about to take a closer look, Anna suddenly gasped, “Kendrick, come look at this!” He turned quickly in the direction she was pointing— A chubby brown bunny was peacefully munching grass beside a tree stump. “Getting excited just from seeing your own kind?” Annabelle shot him a glare. “There are foxes in this area too. Maybe you’ll meet your kind later and you can say hi.”
