Fuming with anger, she hurriedly walked towards Kevin's suite. However, she was still a bit nervous inside, wondering what Kevin was doing at that moment. How much influence did Mrs. Smith have on him? Taking a deep breath, Mrs. Davis pushed the door and entered, scanning the suite before heading to the study. Fortunately, Kevin couldn't discern anything unusual. He sat at the desk working diligently as usual. When he saw her coming, he smiled and greeted, "Mom, you're here? Sit outside and take a rest for a while."

Kevin appeared, dressed in a casual t-shirt and jeans and with a wide smile on his face. “You made it. I just got here too and my mum hasn’t even see me yet.” He said, moving to hug Katelyn but was interrupted by someone else. A woman in her early sixties hurried outside. "There you are!" She ignored Kevin completely. Instead, she walked straight toward Katelyn. "You must be Katelyn." Before Katelyn could answer, the older woman enveloped her in a warm embrace. "Oh, you're even lovelier than Kevin described."

She turned to face him, with a tight-lipped smile playing on her lips. "No, but I figured that it would be easier for you to thank him for me because he is the head of your board," she answered before slipping into the bathroom and turning the key to lock the door. She dialled Kevin's nurse's number and she heard it ring before she heard a soft hello. "Yes, it's me Valerie Carson, Kevin's mother. I wanted to know how my son is doing," she said settling on the bathtub and then tapping her leg anxiously.

Kevin nodded, smiling down at her, “Of course. And then, we’ll go far away, just you and me.” I felt like I was suffocating. Ginny had always acted so soft, so fragile. Like she couldn’t hurt a fly. But this? This was murder wrapped in a bow of innocence and crocodile tears. The both of them hugged warmly, while Kevin's phone suddenly rang. “Mom.” He greeted, smiling but then, his smile turned into a frown, “What do you mean she hasn't donated the bone marrow? That crazy woman is being so difficult again. Hold on, let me call her.”

Kevin heard the familiar doctor that he had met almost six years ago at the hospital, it seemed like they had been waiting up for him to show up all this years but not even once had it ever dawned to him to take that one step,he was the same guy who was in charge of Bella's operation, what's a small world that he was really Bella's father, Kevin was not sure how he was supposed to reach to this statement so he sought to remain silent instead. I asked him with teary eyes, "Kevin, look at me. Why are you crying? Please say me the reason of your tears." Kevin replied, "No one loves me, Cristill. Literally no one loves me. I don't even know that my mom is alive or not. From my childhood, I have seen children with their mom. Their mom loves them so much. They took care of them. They cook for their children. They always love them. But, I haven't seen my mom only." I asked him, "Why? Where is your mom?"

But not tonight." I raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Hmm, that's good news, Mom." I let out a mirthless smile knowing that deep down, Kevin's going down. My mother smiled, a cold glint in her eye. "Tonight, let's just enjoy the celebration. We'll deal with Kelvin another day."

Aaron and Mark shared surprised glances before shrugging their shoulders and replied, still a bit confused. "She said she had something else to do and so she will visit him next time" All the excitement on Kevin's face fell. He slumped his shoulders as he walked back to his bed. "Why didn't she come?" he poured like a small disappointed kid, his Mom patted his back and tried to comfort him. Both Aaron and Mark stood there watching the drama. "What is going on?" Mark asked and slowly reached Kevin as both he and Aaron settled on the seats next to Kevin's bed. Kevin didn't say anything but his mom answered for him.

Kevin described me thoroughly, leaving me to support my wide-open jaw. He wiped his tears, went back on reading while he left me hanging with my thoughts. I tried to concentrate on his current words, but my mind forcefully kept me thinking about his mother, how did she look? He told she resembled me. It was strange that Mr. Grande didn’t enlighten me with this important fact. He kept explaining about the heart and its functions until somebody knocked at the door and Mr. Grande opened the door, “Miss. Maxwell, can you spare me a few minutes?” He asked, I glanced at Kevin, he was busy in his small world.
