Quintina could not believe that they were on the same team. Loki was dressed in a grey robe. A slight grin crept up on his somewhat handsome face as he said, “How do you do, Ms. Quintina?” Demetrius smirked. “This elixir is now ours. Do you have any objections?”

Loki struggled to raise her gaze up from the floor and tried her best to look intimidating as possible. "Aren't you scared what might happen to you for daring to touch Glen Robertson's wife?" She managed to glare at him even though she was freaking scared internally. 'Please, just this once. Let me hide under Glen's powerful reputation and protection once more. Please...' she prayed within her. The men had all withdrawn and were now looking at her in a skeptical and somewhat fearful manner. And just when Loki thought she could breathe with relief, they simultaneously burst into a fit of scornful laughter.

His legs buckled beneath him, and he collapsed again with a sharp, strangled groan. Without thinking, I dropped to my knees beside him, the sharpness in my voice cutting through the chaos of the moment. "What the hell are you doing?" I snapped, grabbing his shoulder to steady him. The compassion I had just admitted to feeling was nowhere to be found now. This wasn’t about compassion. Not anymore. Gideon’s eyes flickered open, bloodshot and tired, but there was a strange, almost vulnerable light in them as they met mine. "I—I’m fine," he mumbled through gritted teeth, his hands trembling as they gripped the bed frame.

" His arrogant face loomed larger and larger before me. I suddenly jerked my head up and used the last of my strength to slam my forehead into his knee. "Don't celebrate so soon, Samuel! Even if I die, I'm taking you down with me!" The blow carried no real force. In my weakened state, I couldn't even make him stumble. Yet he clutched his knee and cried out in exaggeration, "My knee! How dare you injure me, Caleb!" He staggered back and fell heavily to the floor, pretending to be in unbearable pain. It was so over-the-top that anyone with half a brain should've known he was faking it. However, it instantly made Whitney and Kelly feel a pang of heartache.

I seized my last hope. I was about to be on one knee, but Forrest, my man who was so gentlemanly like he always was, pulled me up. “Megan.” Then it was the scariest thing I’d ever felt in my whole life. My breathing held with his sudden gesture. My heart nearly stopped. Is he gonna say no? But then, he took my place. He was on his knee in front of me, surrounded by my friends. Someone said, oh, my god. I thought it was Blaine. Then my friends started giggling.

This caused an even bigger audience. Everyone was watching her and Ki move slowly to the dance floor. You would think the room was empty. They bounced and moved their hips very seductively.

Even Thea screamed along with them. She didn’t even look my way. Didn’t ask how I’d managed to convince him. I stood there silently, watching as Mr. Ashford stepped fully into his role, commanding the rink with nothing but his presence. His muscles were obvious even beneath the casual clothes he wore, and I sensed that some of the players had stopped just to stare at him too. Given how the ladies were screaming for him as if they had never seen a man before, I wondered what was so special about him or why they were reacting that way.

The power thrummed through his veins,foreign, yet somehow right. A council member who had remained standing took a step forward,an alpha: strong and defiant. “This is impossible,” the alpha’s voice shook. “No omega has this kind of power.” Eiren looked up at him, and their eyes met. “Kneel,” Eiren commanded again. The alpha’s body resisted. His face flushed with effort, and his muscles tensed. But slowly and inevitably, his knees bent. He fell. And the chamber fell silent.

Loki… had simply gone mad. I shot a glance at Yarnssa and Mili, then quickly headed toward the Sacred Dap Bridge. Loki didn’t follow this time. He only called out loudly from behind: “Sister, this isn’t a negotiation—it’s a notice. I will come to reclaim what belongs to me.” Soon, his voice drew attention. Black Knights turned their mounts and cautiously approached. But before they could reach him, Loki opened a thick spellbook, raised a finger, and vanished into the blinding light that burst from its pages.

With a squeeze of my leg, he lets go of me. “There is something you wanted to do in the club, right?” he asks me, his deep whisper rolling along my body right to my throbbing core. “I don’t know what you are talking about,” I lie, getting him to grin at me. Biting my bottom lip, I keep myself from moaning at the intensity of the situation as he moves his hand behind my arm, and pulls me towards him slightly. As my brain gives up its service for good, I move automatically, straddling him.
