It consumes you slowly shaking you. The laundromat is a dingy little hole in the wall type place. There's no sign indicating that you are here. The open sign hangs lopsided by one lonely little chain that you can hardly see through the ice frosted window. The window that looks inside shows ugly green, brown and blue walls with beat up ugly grey washers sitting side by side by side. On the way back to the car, two kids I recognize from her wedding picture run right into her legs as their mother squeezes and kisses her! After we leave what is apparently a hotel Spencer converted into an apartment complex, we head to a laundromat. This place is filthy, I can’t believe people wash their clothes here! My maid uniform smelt awful from all the sweat and different things that had poured on it, but all of my clothes were even worse because I had not taken any time to sort out my laundry. There were washing machines available in the basement for everyone in the apartment to use, but Adam was too much of a cheap man, and all of us had to cough up a few cents in order to use them, which was as good as driving your dirty laundry to some laundromat in town and getting it done there. Once there was nothing but the wood, I picked up the laundry and headed down stairs. The laundry closet was next to the door that headed down into our gym. It was an laundromat sized washer and dryer, since we did sometimes have table clothes, napkins, and the drapes from the bar but it helped being able to wash huge loads of normal laundry as well.
