“Now, I want to go home and help those less fortunate then myself. I know that sounds silly, but it is my dream.” Arabella listened to Lauren and smiled at her to keep her talking. It seemed to help Lauren keep her mind off the present by talking about the past. Arabella studied the girl as she talked. Lauren had dark brown hair that flowed down past her shoulders. Right now, she had it in a high ponytail. Her brown eyes had glints of gold that in certain lights would glow out people. She could not be more than five foot four or five. Lauren must look like a child compared to Lucas’s six foot one build. Her boy had chosen well.

But another part of me—the part that valued my sanity—knew Lilac was right. “Mr. Rutherford,” I said slowly, “is a mysterious man. Finding him would be as hard as finding a spring of water in a desert.” They both looked at me, Ariana with a dramatic sigh and Lilac with a small, knowing smile. “Well,” Ariana said, “I guess we’d better start planning a desert expedition.” The both of them laughed, slapping each other's arms. I couldn't help but laugh along too, but a loud ring soon silenced our laughter.

Her fingers tightened around the remote until they turned pale. Every new photograph that appeared felt like another knife twisting inside her heart. The humiliation she had suffered privately was now being discussed across the entire country. Just then, the broadcast changed. Lauren appeared before several microphones as reporters surrounded her. "I want to completely reject these false rumors." Lauren said calmly, wearing a composed expression. "Mr. Curtis and I were simply carrying out our professional responsibilities on a project designed to strengthen Ecofel's public image." She paused briefly before continuing. "I have nothing but respect for Mr. Curtis, his marriage, and his family.

I needed to clear the fucking fog. I stepped out of the study and walked down the quiet hallway toward the main living space. My boots made no sound on the hardwood floors. As I rounded the corner near the dining area, I stopped dead in my tracks. Lauren was standing by the large windows, her back to me. She wasn't wearing the designer clothes Serena always wore; she had on a simple, faded sweater and dark jeans. Her shoulders were tense. Then, slowly, she let out a long breath and brought her hand up, rubbing her stomach in a gentle, circular motion.

"Lauren was always the fucking outcast. She was a person who- " I wanted fucking fight her, yet Brittany spoke up before I had the chance. "Just so you know." She started. "Lauren and Kaitlyn did everything together. They worked for years to develop that connection that you could never form. Lauren, learned to help Kait through her darkest moments, and ease her down." She paused only for a moment, exhaling a breath. "Like what you have with Erin, Lauren has that connection with Kait. She has that with my sister," Brittany was the one getting enraged now. "Who is fighting for her god damn life right now!"

she wasn't! "Oh would you look at that....My entire fancily is finally here!" Lu Zhang said coldly glaring at the people who just walked in. Anna stared at the man indifferently, looking around she only saw Shola. Her expression changed "Where is Ella?" Shola was shocked, she didn't know that Ella was here with them....she had an unsettling feeling, where was her daughter? Lu Zhang chuckled "I have seven grown up children but only one has given me a grand child.....don't you think I will get a bit attached?"

The guards bowed and left. Lauren took the newspaper but she couldn't continue reading anymore,he dropped it,her mind went to Reed "Will he ever forgive me? The door opened and a middle aged woman came out, Lauren. "Lady Aurora?" Lauren gasped. "What are you doing here this late? Aren't you supposed to be on your way to the airport?" She asked.

Her gaze darted between me and the newcomers. "Alpha," Eve said, bowing slightly to Ryker, before turning to the woman beside him. "Lauren, it is a pleasure to see you again." Lauren was dressed to the nines—skin-tight pants, a corset-like top, and a jacket thrown over her shoulders. Her hair was slicked back into a high ponytail, and her lips were painted a bold, striking shade of red. She wore knee-high leather boots, adding an edgy, almost intimidating flair to her ensemble. She was the picture of confidence, and when she met my eyes, a faint smirk tugged at the corner of her lips.

“We have a hundred of them right now.” “It’s the woman at the women’s dorm. She stopped trying to wave us down and she just put in the last protocol code. She’s triggered the Hail Mary doors.” “The what?” Justice growled the words. He wondered if steam came from his ears. He’d never wanted to feel helpless again after he started his new life but he did at that moment. It infuriated him. “Get me cameras on that building,” Darren Artino shouted. “The woman is too green and I bet she’s just panicking. I’m going to fire her ass when this is over.”

I looked up from the floor and saw the beautiful brunette from the pictures. "Luna, this is Channing. She has just joined the pack," Allen announced. I saw her nod, then they both kinda zoned out. Probably mind linking. She gasped and quickly kneeled down to me. "What are you doing Lainee?" I heard a muffled voice in the room question. Luna, or Lainee stood up. "I'm kneeling before a warrior wolf. The Alpha of the Black Moon Warriors," she replied awestruck. Before I could even say anything a girl with black hair like Allen's popped out of the room looked at me before bowing like her Luna.
