Something that smelled like it could strip paint. "You look like you're about to either cry or kill someone." The voice was low. Unhurried. At first she thought she needed to increase the rooms light, maybe it looked so because of how dim the light was so she looked for the switch on the walls and when she saw what was a small glass looking board with buttons on them, she pressed one of them and gladly for her it brightened the room up a little bit. The room's dark features weren't gone. The walls were grey tinted and so was almost everything in the room but somehow it didn't have a metallic look.

I lifted my head. In the black mirror of a puddle near the wall, I saw her. She was large. Larger than I expected — larger, I thought with a detached part of my mind, than most wolves I had seen in the pack, including the ranking males. Her fur was silver-white, not quite the color of moonlight, more the color of starlight — a colder, steadier silver. Her eyes, in the reflection, were not the amber of most shifted wolves. They were pale grey, the color of dawn.

I can physically feel when I make my eyes change now. The weird thing though, is my paws and stomach, they seem to be whiter than I remember, with each turn, and without a mirror to fully inspect myself, I can’t tell if I am losing grey.
