“She belongs here. She’s so at ease.” As they watched, Lily knelt to the ground, gathering the children around her in a circle. She began to tell a story, her hands gesturing animatedly, her voice full of warmth and enthusiasm. The children listened with rapt attention, their eyes wide with wonder. Lucian and Dominic exchanged a glance, a silent agreement passing between them. They knew they had to approach her, to apologize and make amends, but they didn’t want to disrupt this moment of joy. They wanted to savor the sight of her, to hold onto this image of her smiling and carefree.

Lily's carefree spirit was contagious, bringing a newfound brightness to my room. As Lily and I settled into our conversation, we delved into the world of jokes and stories about Jude and Jade. As we sat, I began, "You know, when I was your age, my father used to tell me stories about princesses and princes. Would you like to hear one?" Lily's eyes lit up with curiosity, a faint smile appearing. "Yes, please!"

He thought he was quite intelligent. "I'm afraid I don't follow." He said as she went back to the front desk. "Lily's book is based on the role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons." Her eyes sparkled again. "Just like so many others, she's given us a world to escape to. A heroine tasked to kill a dark sorcerer when, in reality..." the woman stopped, "I can't spoil it for you! You'll just have to read it." She said as she rang him up. Was this how everyone reacted to Lily's book?

Just like the rabbit I saw in the mountain, our eyes met, and I saw in that rabbit's future that he will be killed by the monster. I didn't know what it was vision, but, it came true. The rabbit was found dead near the entrance of the cave with no limbs and only his head was left. "Have you finished reading the book I gave you Sia?" Lily asked while putting the food on my plate. I nodded. "Yes Lily, can you give me another book?" "I haven't gone back to the fairy land, maybe I can ask for help from the sprites." Leia, Lily, and Lylia are siblings and was born in their land. The middle of the heaven and the earth, the fairy land or called as Netroceep.

Because my heart was beating too loud and I needed a minute to breathe. I unpacked my one good dress and hung it up. I lined up my piping tips on the bathroom counter. Normal things. Grounding things. At eight fifteen, Lily knocked softly. She stood there in footie pajamas holding her bunny. "Can you read the stories," she asked. "Dad does the voices wrong." I laughed. "I would love to hear it." She launches into a tale about a princess who fought dragons and a knight who was actually a frog. It is chaotic, nonsensical, and absolutely perfect. I listen, and I laugh, and I feel the years of loneliness melt away. After lunch, I help Zoe with the dishes. She stands beside me at the sink, her hands in the warm water, her belly pressed against the counter.
